Weather or not: Restaurants open in Asheville, Jan. 22

Snowpocalypse is here, but Ashevilleans still have to eat (and drink). Many coffee shops, restaurants, breweries and bars have closed due to hazardous driving conditions and other factors related to the winter storm. But a few are keeping their doors open for the hardy souls who have to be out and about or don’t mind braving the weather for the perfect pour-over, a craft beer or a hot meal.

The following list is far from complete, but we’ll be updating throughout the day. Please double-check with businesses to be sure they’re still open before venturing out.

To let us know about other eateries that are open or those that have closed, email your news to gsmith@mountainx.com or Tweet to @mxeat.

Firestorm Books & Coffee at 610 Haywood Road is open. We closed early yesterday when the power went out in West Asheville and may close early again tonight, so folks should call before sledding in: 828-255-8115.
