Tricia Fogle explains the inspiration behind her new business, Life of Energy Retreats

Tricia Fogle was inspired to create her up-and-coming business, Life of Energy Retreats, in order to share her knowledge of alternative and holistic health methods and provide a refreshing, full-service retreat space where participants can relax their bodies and refresh their minds.

All retreats will be held at Fogle’s old stomping grounds, Earthshine Discovery Center, where she once worked facilitating team building activities  and both low ropes and high ropes courses for school, youth, and corporate groups.

Life of Energy Retreats boasts three separate retreats which focus on different but connected aspects of wellness: the body retreat, which focuses on the vibration and energy of surroundings as well as the health and nutrition given to the body; the mind retreat, which concentrates on the power of the mind to affect the body and the energy of being;  and the spirit retreat, which allows participants to tune into their spirits and souls to recognize more connection and awareness of their divine natures. All retreats take time for reflection, group activities, meditation and mind/body exercises.

Life of Energy’s first retreat is planned for Aug. 28-30. The retreat, which will focus on the body, offers an all-inclusive, two-night stay including workshops, team-building activities, sessions in yoga and reflexology, guided meditation, guided hikes and more. The retreat is $430 for the full weekend as an early bird special until June 28, and the price will increase to $480 starting June 29. Participants will also have the option to engage in an on-site zipline adventure for an additional fee.

Xpress asked Fogle to tell us a little more about Life of Energy Retreats.

Mountain Xpress: What inspired you to open a business specializing in retreats? Did you have a particular retreat experience that inspired you?

Tricia Fogle: After quitting my full-time job at a communications business, I started listening to webinars and seminars  about personal development in all areas of life. I was interested in topics like power of the mind, thoughts and potential, and how paradigms [patterns] are formed and how to shift or change them, as well as alternative health methods to heal your body. I saw the movie “The Secret,” learned more about the law of attraction, and listened to online Mastermind conferences with top gurus in their field. This helped me to recognize what I am really capable of, how to assemble my dream and how to realize it. I followed the habits of motivational speakers like Mary Morrissey, Jack Canfield, and John Assaraf. I made myself a vision board, said affirmations daily, and worked on being grateful. I even put a dollar on my wall and envisioned it being $10,000 of extra money I earn this year!

My “aha” moment came a few weeks later when the idea came into my mind to create a retreat and use many of the healthy, holistic methods I’d read and learned about recently. I planned to organize that information into a retreat at a great lodge I used to work at in Lake Toxaway, called Earthshine Discovery Center. I want my son and family, as well as all people, to be healthy and realize we have more control over our own health than we realize.

Tell us about the three different retreat options you offer — body, mind, and spirit.

Well, as I started brainstorming all my ideas, I realized that I couldn’t fit everything into one weekend event. So it made sense to me to focus more on one aspect at a time and then progress to the next aspect. There is so much information and so many techniques out there that I want to share as many methods as I can with individuals. I believe there is a connection to all three.

If someone had to pick just one retreat to experience of the three, which would you recommend?

Oh, that would be hard, but I suppose the mind retreat! It’s amazing how our mind and thoughts can influence our whole life and our health.

Fogle's retreats will be held at Earthshine Discovery Center located in Lake Toxaway, NC.

What can one expect to experience on any/all of the Life of Energy retreats?

Each retreat is an all-inclusive, two-night stay. There will be about five main topics and speakers/experts sharing and teaching various methods that you can experience for yourself. There will be an activity to get to know one another, which is one fun part. There will be yoga, guided mediation, a chance to have a foot massage, and a mini-session with some of the experts during free time. You will gain knowledge and understanding of many healthy ways to heal yourself emotionally and physically as well as recognize a new perspective on your life.

What can you tell us about the retreat location? What do you find refreshing about it?

The lodge, Earthshine Discovery Center, previously known as Earthshine Mountain Lodge, is located up in Lake Toxaway, nestled in a beautiful area of the Blue ridge Mountains. It has a great 7-section zipline through the trees and over the pond, and beautiful , peaceful views, trails, great meals and a cozy cabin room, but no TV, although there is Internet. It is away from any crowd and has large porches and a quaint rock patio to sit out on and enjoy the view. I love it, especially with a glass of lemonade! There are a handful of hiking trails right on the property, which is 80+ acres. It has a pretty pond near small pioneer buildings, with a few animals close by and a winding driveway up to the lodge. It’s the perfect place to slow down and relax.

If you had to sum up the mission of Life of Energy Retreats in a couple of sentences, what would it be?

Our mission is to help health-conscious individuals increase awareness, gain knowledge, and experience alternative/holistic methods so that they can increase their health, well-being, and energy in everyday life.

Great Post Melissa!over the years i’ve tried all kinds of law of attraction techniques, purchased tons of books and coaching programs but none seem to work, until one day someone recommended this technique that made me manifest on of my dream goals that i struggled to get over the years in a matter of days!,i’m tired of seeing law of attraction “Gurus” not teaching what you really need to do attract your goals but they just seem to care about making money instead of actually helping people, i want to spread this information to as many people as possiblee,it will definately change your life once you try this out this simple tool http://subconciousmindzone.com/2015/06/15/subconscious-mind-tools
