Acoustic Asheville: Matt Walsh

With a voice reminiscent of Tom Waits and guitar skills harkening back to traditional blues music, Matt Walsh is quickly gaining momentum ahead of his upcoming solo release. He’s wrapping up recording right now with the hopes of getting the new record out sometime in the late summer or early fall.

Walsh’s live shows are truly something to be seen. He brings incredible energy and authenticity to the stage, and it’s not to be missed. He’s got a couple of local shows coming up — he’ll be at Oskar Blues Brewery in Brevard on Thursday, May 18, and at 5 Walnut on Saturday, May 27.

Ahead of those shows, Walsh gave a preview of his upcoming record with a performance of two brand new songs for Xpress and Acoustic Asheville. The performance was shot at The Grey Eagle.
