Acoustic Asheville: The Deslondes

This week, Acoustic Asheville features New Orleans-based collective The Deslondes. Featuring a wide range of influences from folk to Zydeco and everything in between, the band brought its unique sound to The Grey Eagle for a recent tour stop.

Ahead of the show, the musicians played a session for WNCW and performed two songs exclusively for Xpress and Acoustic Asheville.

There are also many acoustic acts that are from Asheville playing regularly in the area. Would love to see some of those reviewed including fritz Beer and the crooked beat. I and others would love to see the mountain Xpress promote and support these local acoustic acts doing original music in the same fashion.

I agree wholeheartedly and have been trying to get more local artists involved in the series! Keep an eye out and hopefully you’ll see that happening soon. Thanks for your comment!
