Makes about 1 cup
4 tablespoons mellow white miso
2/3 cup maple syrup
Whisk together both ingredients and serve.
Editor’s note: This sauce has a sort of sweet-salty-umami thing going on — think salted caramel. The American Miso Co. recommends it as a syrup for pancakes or waffles or as a topping for yogurt or goat cheese. It also makes a good topping for ice cream.
