Blog Log: The week in local blogging

Maybe it’s because it’s 70-some-odd degrees outside, but it sort of feels like Asheville is at a tipping point. Everything either seems on the edge of movement or finally arriving.

Things are budding and growing and maybe it’s time to mow the lawn, though Chicken Inwind & Hillfoot Adrift makes a fair argument against this (still pretty cool) method.

After a long wait between Democratic primaries, early voting has begun in North Carolina. In anticipation, there was the Barack The Vote at the Orange Peel, blogged by Scrutiny Hooligans.

That’s the Orange Peel, by the way…one of the best clubs in the nation, and OMG everyone is talkin’ about it!

So Rolling Stone has finally come back around. But we’re used to magazine write ups here. What about the locals? Take the poll over at Carolina Mornings and have a say in what is hot … or not.

As pointed out on several blogs, its time for another installment of A Day In the Life of Asheville.

Skippy Haha is moving (physically, not blogg-ily), and that might not be important to you, but check out the black widow!

URTV has fired up its forums in case you want to chat about the programs on public access but don’t have anyone hanging out with you at 1 a.m. in your basement.

And the festival season is coming, bringing with it a huge menu of events, music and fun, but some blogs (we’re talking to you Ashvegas and Asheville Beer Blog) can’t seem to wait for September.
