Blog Log: The week in local blogging

Man has it been hot and dry, dry and hot. But it’s all gotta break soon, right?

A rendering of the weather situation was on display last week at The Ashevillein, and Skippy Haha has this poem to describe the general mood.

Much like the dusty, dusty ground, the blog world has also been pretty dry. Some bloggers haven’t posted this month at all, and others haven’t since June. (Where are you stupidmommy? C’mon back.)

It’s been getting hot in the blog world as well, and this week, confrontation seemed to be the name of the game.

So Much For Tact, he of the infamous word-feud with Take 5 writer Tim Rawal, stirred up a tempest with some posts about Carl Mumpower on his site and over at Scrutiny Hooligans. He has his accounting of the dustup here.

Pancho’s Via, who fell off a porch awhile back, came this close to filing a lawsuit against his friend’s landlord.

Hangover Journals was mad at the universe in general and breached blogger netiquette by YELLING IN ALL CAPS!

Edgy Mama, who last week told commenters to be nice, now has this guy to do her dirty work. So really, be nice.

And George the Bastard, in what reads like a bit from a Feral Chihuahuas sketch, has this post on fighting stewardesses.

Maybe we all need to calm down and have something cool to drink. Amateur Cocktail Guy has a few dubious suggestions, but we’re thinking more along the lines of the new robot wine machine at Hendersonville Epicurean.

  1. The dry spell happens every summer (or whenever the weather is good for long periods of time).

Also, just an FYI, BlogAsheville will keep bloggers on the blogroll until more than two months pass between posts. Then they’re gone.
