Buncombe Commissioners cancel Feb. 7 meeting

The Buncombe County Board of Commissioners canceled today’s Feb. 7 meeting.

Clerk to the Board Kathy Hughes sent an email notification out to local media outlets Feb. 3 informing them of the cancellation.

The original agenda for the meeting didn’t include any new business items or public hearings, noted Hughes, in her explanation of the cancellation. Anything the commissioners planned to do could wait until the next scheduled meeting on Feb. 21, she added.

Also, Board Chair David Gantt is out of town and wouldn’t have been able to attend a Feb. 7 meeting, she said.

The commissioners last met Jan. 31 at their annual retreat to discuss their priorities for the year.
