Clinton campaign to open Asheville office

The Clinton campaign will open an office in Asheville today, Thursday, April 10, at 5 p.m., according to a release from the campaign.

Asheville’s North Carolina for Hillary office will be located at 24 Arlington St. Its opening coincides with that of two other new Clinton campaign offices in Graham and Jacksonville. The campaign lists 10 North Carolina offices on its Web site, including Asheville.

Campaign staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions, and attendees will have the opportunity to sign up for activities throughout the region and state, according to a press release sent out this morning.

I love Hillary. She is strong. She has experience. She has Bill as an advisor. Mr Obama may be a slick speaker, but he is so inexperienced, and he never gives any details about how he plans to make this country better. Hillary does give details. She knows. Obama doesn’t. Obama just wants to get into office. Then, what? Obama will call Rev Wright for advice? The man who said this country is “the US KKK of A”? I don’t think so. Hillary doesn’t carry this kind of baggage, or doubts we would have with Obama. I am going to work for Hillary. Hillary will take North Carolina!

  2. Rebecca Bowe

“hey uh” — Sorry, I couldn’t get it to link to the Google map. The office is off Charlotte Street. You can type in into Mapquest to get directions. Thanks for pointing that out.

  3. Jeanette:

Being married to the president is not valid presidential experience. I dated a doctor for some time but I would not recommend myself as a good choice for your family physician.

Both of the Democratic candidates have roughly the same experience, and both give empty promises and slick talk (just like all politicians).

When the Jeremiah White stuff came out, it gave white voters democrats & republicans ammunition. Now people can spin this into “Obama’s a racist just like his pastor” instead of “I’m a racist & Obama’s a Black Muslim”

Most people want to believe that the president and his “experience” will lead this country to further greatness, but in all actuality the president is a figurehead, and the only qualification necessary for that is eloquent public speaking and Obama has that; as did Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan, and JFK (Poor GW completely sucked at this).

If some people don’t like the fact that Obama is part black then just admit it, don’t use the “black Muslim with a name like Osama “baggage” argument”

I don’t hate Hillary and if it comes down to it I will vote for her, but I think she might not fare well against McCain.

The misinformed and fallacious arguments of Jeanette Mac are very disturbing. It is shameful how so many Hillary supporters spout the same disinformation over and over again.

Fact: Obama has 3 years more legislative experience as an elected official than HIllary. Yes, much of that was in the Illinois state senate, which has one of the largest economies compared to most countries in the world.

Bill Clinton only had state experience, and the state was Arkansas, which has an economy that is comparable to Pakistan.

It is an incontrovertible fact that Obama’s plans are every bit as detailed as Hillary’s and then some. Independent sources have even broken down each of their stump speeches over a period of time and surmised that he offers every bit as much detailed information in his speeches as well.

It is also a fact that Obama has an extremely impressive legislative record. Hillary has been the sole original sponsor of more bills that have passed because she has had a hard time getting cosponsors, even from her own party. The vast majority of Hillary’s legislation has been relatively insignificant.

Conversely, Obama has an extraordinary record of passing significant, bipartisan legislation such as Obama-Luger and Obama-Coburn, to name a couple. There are no bills that are commonly known as Clinton-anything because she has no substantial record as a major sponsor of significant bipartisan legislation.

Here is a good link to an article by a woman who started out impartial, but was swayed by Obama’s overwhelmingly superior legislative record after a substantial comparison: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/2/20/201332/807/36/458633

Jeanette Mac’s race-baiting comments about Wright are unfortunately typical of the Clinton campaign’s shameless tactic of fanning the flames of racial tensions by exploiting a few moments of Wright’s life of public service for political divisiveness.

As for Jeanette Mac’s claim that Hillary has no such baggage, she is seriously ignorant of the facts. Billy Graham, Hillary’s close personal friend and spiritual advisor of 20 years was recorded on tape ranting about , “the malevolent influence of the Jews” in a conversation with Nixon. He actually has a laundry list of things that are every bit as bad as anything Wright ever said or did including efforts to impede MLK’s civil disobedience. This is all well documented in Asheville author Cecil Bothwell’s book on the subject.

Even more disturbing is Hillary Clinton’s 15 years of association with the Family, a Nazi-influenced, theocratic, conservative religious organization that tries to sway world leaders behind the scenes. Clinton has participated in their prayer meetings for 15 years and was even promoted to the highest cell of the organization. Doug Coe, the Nazi-sympathizing leader of the Family has been one of Hillary’s close friends and spiritual advisors for many years.

Jeanette Mac’s contention that Hillary will win NC is completely delusional. The polls overwhelmingly indicate that Obama will win by a landslide in NC. Asheville is Obama country.

No matter how the rest of the race goes, Obama has already won because his lead is impregnable. The unassailable math clearly shows that Hillary has no possibility of winning the nomination without hijacking the election. Her continued presence in the race only shows her willingness to put her own ruthless ambition ahead of the good of the nation.

  5. bent

Whoa, entopticon, way too cruel man. You always dis a woman this way? Jeanette doesn’t deserve to have you dump on her like this. I didn’t even think race when I read her post. I guess you Obama heads think you can shut down debate by calling everyone who isn’t an Obama head a ‘racist’?

I’m with Jeanette. Hillary is more experienced, more grounded, and a much better candidate than Obama. He is quite the speaker, but he has no substance. And his association with that Rev Jeremiah Wright is a problem with me. Wright is just plain a black supremecist racist. Ugly man, ugly.

Just in: Obama was recorded dissing “small town” America in San Francisco yesterday. That ought to really help him in Pennsylvania. Obama said small town people are into their guns, their religion, and ‘just don’t get it’ like peole in Chicago and San Francisco do. Huh? I’d say Obama is the one who doesn’t get it.

Hillary gets it. Vote for her May 6.

  6. bob

    entopticon, jmac and sammule,

    Oh my!

The local Hillary campaign office opens up, and you choose to crap all over their announcement with this negative, untrue propaganda!

Is this how you are going to play locally? You don’t see me screaming “Google larry sinclair” and audacityofhyporcrisy.com all over town. But I can go there if that’s how it’s going to be.

Come on guys. Let’s keep it civil.

    –Bob

  7. entopticon

Bob, shame on you for lying. My post was civil and every last word is true. The same cannot be said of yours.

Scream whatever you want and list your right wing smear websites if it makes you feel better. It doesn’t change the fact that Hillary is a ruthless, lying, unethical person who is tearing the Democratic party apart by constantly embracing right wing smear tactics.

Do you know who James Moore is? He wrote The Architect: Karl Rove and the Master Plan for Absolute Power, and cowrote Bush’s Brain. He is widely considered to be the world’s foremost expert on Rove’s despicable tactics.

Comparing Hillary to Karl Rove, Moore said, “sadly, the similarities are so brutally obvious as to be disturbing.”

Hillary’s use of surrogates to fan the flames of bigotry in America by exploiting Wright’s comment’s is particularly Rovian and despicable.

The head pastor of Hillary’s former church, Dean Snyder, has even pleaded for Hillary, her supporters, and the right wing extremists they have aligned themselves with to stop exploiting Wright’s remarks for the politics of destruction.

Snyder said, ” To evaluate his dynamic ministry on the basis of two or three sound bites does a grave injustice to Dr. Wright, the members of his congregation, and the African-American church which has been the spiritual refuge of a people that has suffered from discrimination, disadvantage, and violence.”

He also “proclaimed it a “grave injustice” to make a judgment on Wright based off of “two or three sound bites,” and criticized those who would “use a few of [Wright’s] quotes to polarize.”

Speaking of hypocrisy, it is very Clintonian of you to claim that you don’t broadcast the slime that you referenced, in the same breath that you broadcast it on this public forum. That was really pathetic.

Speaking of pathetic, it is astonishing that anyone could seriously support Hillary after her chief strategist, Mark Penn, was caught double dealing with the Columbian government on the trade deal that she was supposedly against.

The Columbian government was clearly under the impression that she was supporting it because they stated that they didn’t even know if Penn was representing her or Burson-Marsteller during their talks. The Columbian government even payed for pro-Clinton advertisements there because they thought she was onboard.

Penn is the chief strategist of Burson-Marsteller, which is a lobbying firm that represents a rogues gallery of clients ranging from Blackwater to big tobacco. That is who she chose to align herself with for the last 12 years.

Hundreds of union members have been killed in Columbia and the government has done nothing to prosecute them because they are deeply corrupt and clearly complicit in the killings.

Bill Clinton has been lobbying the US for the murderous, corrupt Columbian government as well, despite Hillary’s supposed position against the trade deal. He has received over $800k for his lobbying efforts, which means Hillary greatly benefitted from his deal because they pool their earnings.

Howard Wolfson, her communications manager was lobbying for the Columbians as well, but he suspended his lobbying efforts because of the conflict of interests. To call what Penn and Bill Clinton did a conflict of interests would be a vast understatement.

Sorry Bob, but yes, I am going to tell the truth locally and everywhere else. You should try it sometime, you might even find you like it.

  8. bent

Entopticon, you call others “liars” and say they are rightwing attackers? You sir are the one doing the attacking here. And your hit piece on Hillary is just plain slanderous. No truth to it at all.

I am so glad Hillary opened her office here. I was there Saturday and got a bunch of signs and am putting them up all over town. This is Hillary country. Small town Asheville doesn’t need an elitist snob like Obama.

And speaking of Obama, check this out.

“You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania, and it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.” Obama speaking before elitist San Francisco Bay donors

“I don’t think my church is actually particularly controversial,” Obama said at a community meeting in Nelsonville, Ohio, earlier this month. But yesterday, he told a different story. “Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church? Yes,” he said in his speech yesterday in Philadelphia.” -Obama statements.

Obama is an elitist who looks down on ordinary Americans and is a real flip-flopper. We all knew he was not telling the truth about being in church when Rev Wright said such hateful and anti American statements as has been seen on YouTube. And I did google Larry Sinclair. If he is telling the truth, Obama will lose on that scandal alone.

What is more interesting here, is that so-called ‘social conservatives’ are now posting on here disguised as Hillary Clinton Fans. “Bent” and “Bob” both post as if they are actually Democrats, when in fact, they are Republicans following the bidding of Hannity et al.
If you ever listen to Rush and Sean Hannity, you would know this is what they are telling their listeners to do; slander Obama and praise Hillary. Because it is their only hope. This has been their talking point for weeks now. They all hate McCain more than they hate Clinton. What does that tell you?

Two years ago, they would have labeled Hillary an ‘elitist’, but now they think she is a populist? Hilarious. And an attack lacking in substance. Hillary Clinton is losing in the polls and in the race for the nomination because voters are turned off by her pandering, by her robotic nature, and her manipulation of the issues ala Karl Rove.

I actually was going into this ‘race’ thinking I would vote for Clinton, but after seeing how she has conducted herself over the past 12 months, I have become very disillusioned. Maybe even disgusted. In contrast, Obama’s speech on race won me over. He, once again, risked political suicide to start a conversation in this nation that no other politician I have seen in my 20 years of voting would dare to make. Just like when he condemned the Invasion of Iraq in 2003, when nearly every other Democrat was scrambling to look like a Hawk.

This is substance and integrity. And if you want yet one more reason to distrust the Clinton Dynasty, just look at who is supporting her these days… the neo-cons. Thqat’s right… their candidate is so hopeless, that they are supporting Hillary to avoid the shakeup that an Obama Presidency may offer.

Personally, I think our democracy needs more diversity of choice than 32 years of either a Bush or a Clinton in the Oval Office. Doesn’t that seem, rather, er, fishy, to you?

Obama, to me, represents a real change in direction of where our country is going. And I would suspect that this is why he is pulling in record numbers of first-time voters, while Clinton continues to receive the majority of her contributions from some of the same industries she claims to ‘go after’.

Bent:–You may need to put up some more signs. There are more than ten Obama sign on my street, and no Clinton ones. And no McCain ones, either. I guess all my neighbors here in west Asheville are some of those working-class ‘elitists’, eh?

Please, if you can, point out some of the actual policies that Obama maintains that are ‘elitist’ or ‘black supremecist (sic) racist’ as you say. I would suggest visiting his website. Otherwise, you are merely posting baseless slander.

Hilary supporters: be wary of some of those who claim to ‘support’ you. You might be surprised who they really are.

  10. travelah

david, are you not Louis Farrakan’s local contact? How do you square that with being an Obama supporter? See how the game works? you smear two posters with unsubstantiated boogeyman slanders and try to take the high road. I’m a conservative that has no problem with Obama getting his Party’s nomination. In fact I am hoping he can hold out just long enough to send the carpetbagger back to her adopted home where she can make that 3AM call to Bill asking just where in hades he is! When she finally get’s the picture, she will discover that her husband did what he could to ensure that HE is the President Clinton in his household.

So far, the Obama-Clinton fiasco is an in-house squabble … wait until his skin is ripe for the plucking. He may or may not survive but he sure is heck isn’t going to get a free pass.

  11. bobaloo

    Hilarious.
The first response to this by “enopticon” slandering Clinton by saying she is in bed with a Nazi-sympathizing Evangelical who runs a secret organization called “The Family” run by Doug Coe
(http://www.time.com/time/covers/1101050207/photoessay/4.html). Of course,I’m sure, they aim to take over the world.
And no one blinks an eye at the conspiracy theory.

You said every last word was true, yet you offer not a shred of evidence.
Prove your conspiracy theory. And no, sites like “Loose Change” don’t count.

  12. entopticon

bent… Your name is all too apt. Are we really supposed to believe that after that little right wing rant of yours, you are a Democrat?

You right wing extremists really crack me up when you pretend to be liberals. You should take that comedy act of yours on the road. Or not. Probably not.

  13. entopticon

bobaloo… You asked for it, you got it. Next time you might want to be more careful what you wish for.

Here is an article by the highly respected Barbara Ehrenreich, in one of the most highly respected news sources in the world, The Nation:
    http://www.thenation.com/doc/20080331/ehrenreich

Ehrenreich states, “When it comes to unsavory religious affiliations, she’s a lot more vulnerable than Obama.”

On the Family’s Nazi ties, Ehrenreich said, “The Family reached out to former and not-so-former Nazis, and its fascination with that exemplary leader, Adolf Hitler, has continued, along with ties to a whole bestiary of murderous thugs.”

Jeffrey Sharlet’s forthcoming book details the Family’s Nazi influences and Hillary’s longtime involvement with the group. Another highly respected news source, Harpers, has an article by Sharlet (who infiltrated the Family) on the Family and their frightening history and practices:
    http://www.harpers.org/archive/2003/03/0079525

Mother Jones, yet another highly respected news source has an informative article on Hillary’s connection with Doug Coe and the Family as well:
    http://www.motherjones.com/news/feature/2007/09/hillarys-prayer.html

As you see, you were wrong, there was nothing slanderous about my post whatsoever. Everything I said is well documented. Sorry, bobaloo, but you lose.

The link that you gave (by Time, a much less serious source) does nothing at all to contradict what I said. Sorry, but neither does the Bono link.

You seemed to have missed the main point of my post, so let me spell it out for you. My point was not how horrible Billay Graham and Doug Coe are; they are humans and I’m sure there is good and bad in them, as there is in Reverend Wright.

My point was that guilt by association is a two way street, so people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. Hillary’s Rove-like guilt by association smear attack against Barack Obama has been a shameful embarrassment.

  14. travelah

entopticon, you are appealing to an authority (Ehrenreich) few have ever heard of (not to mention your claim of The Nation being one of the most highly respected news sources in the world). The status of The Nation has no bearing on the substance of your claim.

  15. entopticon

Actually travelah, the post I responded to made a point of requesting what they considered to be legitimate news sources, and that is why I stressed the legitimacy of the sources that I cited.

Barbara Ehrenreich is in fact quite famous for her book Nickled and Dimed. She has also written extensively for a number of prominent news sources including the NY Times, the Atlantic, Harpers, and she even had a regular column in Time.

The status of the Nation actually does have bearing on the substance of my claim because bobaloo implied that I was relying on less credible sources. My claims are rock solid.

  16. dave

ent- travelah considers any book he hasn’t read as being unheard of. Even if it was a NYTimes Best Seller. totally unheard of. Maybe he is unfamiliar with the Times.

  17. bobaloo

    Thanks for the links entopticon.
My initial reaction wasn’t so much complete disbelief of your claims as irritation for not backing up what sounded like nutty conspiracy theory.
If you’d done so in the first place, I would not have objected.

I do have to object that Time is a “much less serious source”, especially since Ehrenreich linked to the same article in her column you provided.

The only real issues I have with the articles is that they are exclusively from liberal sources. That doesn’t necessarily negate the truthfulness of the claims, but a more objective source would carry more weight (imagine if I rebutted with articles from Heritage Foundation, National Review and Townhall).

The Bono link simply shows that the National Prayer Breakfast and the Fellowship Foundation, while certainly power brokers behind the scenes, aren’t necessarily a shadowy facist organization that few hear of or are allowed access to. Indeed they seem quite open as to their operation considering they allowed Sharlet (whose main point seems to be that the Fellowship Foundation is -gasp- Christian based), who admitted he was a journalist, to become part of the “the Family”. It wasn’t meant to contradict what you posted.

And thanks for clarifying your point, as it did appear to have the sole aim of smearing Clinton. I’m not here to win or lose, but clarity and sources for such statements are a necessity.

  18. Edith Bunker

I thought this thread was about Hillary Clinton’s new headquarters? But entopicon (formerly known as Dr Anti…) turns this thread into a discussion of the attributes of Barak Hussein Obama. Let’s keep on topic here, OK? Take your Barak Hussein Obama crusade over to the forums.

Hillary is North Carolina. We value God, family, community…and hunting rights in this state. I am going over to her headquarters today and volunteer. This is the year of the woman!

  19. entopticon

Edith Bunker is a bigot and a liar. For one thing, I am in no way connected to Dr Anti.

I also seriously doubt that Edith Bunker is a Democrat, because she sounds a lot more like her racist fictional paramour, Archie Bunker. Shame on her for her bigoted tactic of trying to exploit people’s xenophobia with the use of Obama’s middle name.

Also, for better or worse, Hillary Clinton does not have a record of supporting hunting rights, as Bunker is probably well aware of. If hunting rights is your top priority, vote McCain.

I doubt that Edith isn’t really just a typical right wing bigot pretending to be a Hillary supporter, but if she really is going to volunteer for Hillary, more power to her because we want nothing to do with bigoted fools like her.

  20. Prof. Propaleoconus

Yes! Yes! Entopticon. You and Dr. Anti are speaking the truth! Awaken the Masses! Awaken the Masses!

Do you guys have a book club or soemthing I could join? Maybe even a club house, or a tree house club with a secret handshake? That would be so cool. I can bring brownies and construction paper to plan our awakening the masses. All these people in here are blind, but you and I, we see the truth. One day we will awaken the cattle.

  21. entopticon

Prof. Propaleoconus, I have no idea who Dr Anti is and I will have to pass on your construction paper and brownie club, but hey, whatever floats your boat is fine with me. If that is your dream, run with it and never look back.

  22. travelah

dave, I suspect my reading habits and selections are somewhat outside your limited boundaries however, I am no fan of the NY Times nor do I respect the editorial decisions of it’s leadership. When a litany of leftist liberal publications and authors are used to buttress liberal ideas and it’s agendas, I am unimpressed as any intellectually astute reader should be. The Nation is viewed as credible among liberals and in some regard it is. It is not a bastion of unbiased publications in any event.

  23. entopticon

How anyone could support Hillary after her despicable muckraking in last night’s debate is beyond my imagination.

Over and over again she pounced on every sleazy opportunity to exploit the tabloid issues. The one time she was asked a difficult question, about her lie about being under sniper fire in Bosnia, Obama spent his rebuttal time coming to her defense. As soon as he was done, she went right back to her Tonya Harding strategy of shameless kneecapping.

Her recent wave of negative ads is just as shameful. If Obama wanted to it would be just as easy for him to make a negative ad about Hillary’s January of 1995 statement about southern white males at Camp David.

While talking to Bill Clinton and a panel advisors in the aftermath of the crushing congressional defeat of 1995, the issue of what to do about Southern white voters came up.

Hillary’s response was, “Screw ’em.” She went on to say, “You don’t owe them a thing, Bill. They’re doing nothing for you; you don’t have to do anything for them.”

The statement has been verified by at least three major Democratic advisors who were at the meeting, Benjamin Barber, Alan Wolfe, and Harry Boyte.

Hillary’s hypocrisy is mind-boggling. The choice for the Democratic nomination is crystal clear: Barack Obama.

Here is a link to an article on Hillary’s incendiary comments about white Southerners:
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/04/16/hillary-clinton-on-workin_n_97017.html

  24. entopticon

Harvard political scientist Theda Skocpol, who was also at the Camp David meeting with the Clintons, has just written a new article on Hillary’s attitude towards working-class white Southerners in the meeting.

According to Scokpol, “She spoke of ordinary voters as if they were a species apart, and showed interest only in the political usefulness of their choices — usefulness to the Clinton administration, that is.”

The full article can be seen at:
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/theda-skocpol/my-recollection-of-the-19_b_97291.html

  25. Bent

Obama is way too inexperienced to be president. Hillary will win. Besides, Hillary understands small town America while Obama looks down on us.

  26. entopticon

Bent, did you even bother to read the above facts? If you did, you are seriously intellectually challenged.

Obama has 3 more years experience in elected office than Hillary does.

Once again, to claim that Obama looks down on small town America is completely ludicrous coming from a Hillary supporter.

On Southern, white, rural, working-class voters, Hillary said:

“Screw ’em.” She even went onto say, ““You don’t owe them a thing, Bill. They’re doing nothing for you; you don’t have to do anything for them.”

Typical of a Hillary supporter to follow Hillary’s cue by ignoring the facts and responding with nothing but empty rhetoric.

Hillary supporters are getting more and more indistinguishable from right wing extremists. I don’t know which one you are, but either way you are going to lose in November.

  27. Fred Burton

Hillary Clinton beat the Armani trousers off Obama in Pennsylvania yesterday. You go girl! 2008 is the year of the woman. Hillary is the best candidate to beat McCain in the fall. May 6 I will be voting for Hillary!

  28. us yankee

This is to Jeannette. You don’t do much research do you? The Clintons have more baggage than Delta. Both her and hubby have also jeopardized the National Security on more than one occasion. Clinton pardoned 140 and 36 sentence commutations all in the name of quid pro quo–I give you a pardon, and you give me money. Look up Marc Rich, for example. He was pardoned in exchange for over his ex wife Denise Rich giving over a million towards Clinton’s library (which hides money). Rish was on America’s Most Wanted. Clinton told the Dept of Justice he was “living abroad” when he was in fact a fugitive! Rich had $43 mil tax evasion, traded oil in Iran when we had an embargo against them. I could go on and on. Traded missile secrets to China in exchange for re-election funds. Sandy Berger is H. Clintons advisor and he doesn’t even have National Security Clearance. He..um.. lost it when he hid and destroyed National Archive documents to protect the Clintons. OPEN your eyes. Do a Google search. Type in “Clintons” and campaign fraud or Clintons pardons terrorists.

  29. Cliff McBride

Spread the word June 6, 2008 I will be voting for Hillary Clinton as I will never accept any Parties rules and or ruling that goes against the people, and the majority represents the people; anything else represents the government. I will just write her name in. I warn everyone once we the people surrender our will to that of the governments, we are also surrendering our liberties and our freedoms, putting our democracy on the eve of destruction! The following are quotes from the men and women that created for us the world we are privy to today, as you read them, I’m sure you will agree with me that we are duty bound and obligated to do whatever is in our power to preserve them, our they will not be here for future generations! “The strength of the Constitution lies entirely in the determination of each citizen to defend it. Only if every single citizen feels duty bound to do his share in this defense are the constitutional rights secure.” (Albert Einstein)
“I should like to pay honor — honor to the document itself, honor to the men who framed it, and honor to the God who inspired it and made possible its coming forth.”
“For the past two centuries, those who do not prize freedom have chipped away at every major clause of our Constitution until today we face a crisis of great dimensions.”
“The God of heaven sent some of His choicest spirits to lay the foundation of this government. And he has sent other choice spirits to preserve it.”
“Freedom as we know it has been experienced by perhaps less than one percent of the human family.”
“For centuries our forefathers suffered and sacrificed that we might be recipients of the blessings of freedom. If they were willing to sacrifice so much to establish us as a free people, should we not be willing to do the same to maintain that freedom for ourselves and for future generations.”
“Could many of our ills today have resulted from our failure to train a strong citizenry from the only source we have — the boys and girls of each community? Have they grown up to believe in politics without principle, pleasure without conscience, knowledge without effort, wealth without work, business without morality, science without humanity, worship without sacrifice?”
“We … face difficult days in this beloved land, ?a land which is choice above all other lands.? It is my conviction, however, that when the Lord comes, the Stars and Stripes will be floating on the breeze over this people.” Ezra Taft Benson
    Fifteenth U.S. Secretary of Agriculture
“Posterity — you will never know how much it has cost my generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it.” John Quincy Adams

“It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ! For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity and freedom of worship here.” Patrick Henry
“Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.”

I will close with what is inscribed on our Statue of Liberty which must bare serious consideration as we decide on the future of our immigrants! The New Colossus – By liberty Lazarus: “Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame, With conquering limbs astride from land to land; Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame. “Keep the ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door.” (The inscription on a tablet within the Statue of Liberty’s pedestal). FOR ALL THE ABOVE REASONS I STAND STRONG ON MY DECISION TO VOTE FOR THE ONLY PERSON I BELIEVE STANDS A CHANCE AT FIXING THE MESS THE Bush administration is leaving behind! EVEN IF I HAVE TO WRITE HER NAME IN-IT IS MY GOD GIVEN RIGHT, MY RIGHT AS AN AMERICAN! RESPECTFULLY YOURS, CLIFFORD S, MCBRIDE

    To Cliff:

    1) No one has mentioned how with Republicans, once the presumptive nominee gets the required delegates, the remainder states don’t get to vote either. NO ONE has even mentioned that point for comparison.

    2) If you (or Hillary for that matter) were SOOOO worried about votes not counting, what about all the people in Florida and Michigan that didn’t get to vote because the votes were not to be counted and were JUST a beauty contest?

    3) Hillary, like everyone else agreed to it, and signed affidavits like everyone else stating such. Why did Hillary mention it only AFTER she was behind in votes?????????? Seems like a set up to ME. If it goes good for Hillary, Hillary will keep quiet… if she’s behind…well then she’ll squawk. She never did like to follow THE RULE OF LAW.

Not once have you or anyone in Hilary’s camp brought the subject because the answer is not in YOUR favor and has nothing to do with fairness or the rules, so I don’t wanna hear that lame argument anymore.
