Clinton to speak in Asheville

Former President Bill Clinton will visit Asheville Friday night to campaign for his wife, U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton. She’s in a tight battle with Sen. Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination, and both candidates are gearing up to take the Tar Heel state. North Carolina voters will make their choice in the May 6 primary.

Bill Clinton’s appearance is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. at Asheville High School on McDowell Avenue. Details about logistics remain unclear at this point. His appearance is the last announced stop on a North Carolina tour Friday that includes stops in Greensboro, High Point, Salisbury, Kannapolis, Gastonia and Hickory. The Clintons’ daughter, Chelsea Clinton, is scheduled to appear in Raleigh on Saturday at a convention of Young Democrats.

Obama spoke in Greensboro earlier this week, and he and Clinton are working out details of a possible debate on April 19 in Raleigh, to be moderated by CBS.

Hillary Clinton and Obama are vying for 134 delegates in North Carolina. The delegate count now shows Obama with 1,629 delegates to Clinton’s 1,497 delegates. A total of 2,025 delegates are required to win the nomination.

Extra seating is always available in Bill’s lap for qualifying females.

I wouldn’t be surprised if an Obama turned up at the ‘Barack The Vote’ event on April 17th at the Orange Peel.

I looked on his official website and could not find out anything about intentions to campaign here…and worse, couldn’t find out how to send a request for him to campaign here. Frustrating…

I Believe SEN. Clinton has more experience in Washington, She was First Lady and a senator also. So id vote for her not because shes a women but because of her experiences. And I think that remark about President Clint was un-call for everyones human and can make mistakes. Does’nt mean I agree with what happen.

flyingangel, hopefully you won’t be able to vote for her more than once, and even more hopefully you won’t be able to at all.

She’s a fine person and all, but she needs to get the hell out of this campaign. Mabye she lasts through the NC primary in early May, but hopefully before then a few more large endorsements will come for Obama and a few more party elders will have tapped her on the shoulder and given her the news about her chances.

She can not win. That’s when you get out. When you can’t win. It’s how all the others, Republicans and Democrats, have played the game.

The only “saddling up” that needs to happen is her getting a big fat clue about her chances and then joining forces with and endorsing the frontrunner.

flyingangel, you would vote for her because she is married? Now there is a credential for you. Now as for Mr. Bill, you shouldn’t think for a moment it was a mistake. He planned every one of his adulteries and only stopped (ya think?) when he got caught.
