Eric Cantor, Minority Whip of the United States House of Representatives, joined 11th District Republican Congressional District candidate Jeff Miller at a ‘Get Out The Vote’ rally earlier this afternoon. Nearly 150 people — almost all of them senior citizens — showed up for the event, held in downtown Hendersonville.
The video starts off a little shaky, but it gets better fast. We promise.

Thanks for reading through to the end…
We share your inclination to get the whole story. For the past 25 years, Xpress has been committed to in-depth, balanced reporting about the greater Asheville area. We want everyone to have access to our stories. That’s a big part of why we've never charged for the paper or put up a paywall.
We’re pretty sure that you know journalism faces big challenges these days. Advertising no longer pays the whole cost. Media outlets around the country are asking their readers to chip in. Xpress needs help, too. We hope you’ll consider signing up to be a member of Xpress. For as little as $5 a month — the cost of a craft beer or kombucha — you can help keep local journalism strong. It only takes a moment.
Glad Miller got a hair trim! much better!
Will Bill Clinton produce any more votes for Shuler?
Hmmm, it looks like some of the area’s nursing home residents got to enjoy a field trip today!
Matlock!!!
A fine, manly lookin’ pair. I wondered whatever happened to those kids who got stuffed in their own lockers.
@ Bunky: Will Bill Clinton produce any more votes for Heath Shuler? I dunno. I feel like Miller appearing with North Carolina’s resident sociopath congresswoman Virginia Foxx would do more to help Shuler.
Caffeine and video cameras don’t mix well. LOL.
Dude, tripods are cheap. Spend $20 at Wally World or, if you want a better one, drop $50 at Best Buy or somewhere else.

Were Ken Hanky and Jeff Fobes there too?
“Were Ken Hanky and Jeff Fobes there too?”
I assume you are referring to Ken Hanke. I escaped from my nursing home bed before they could round me up and force-march me to the bus, but I doubt if they are that masochistic.
