Police investigating art gallery robbery

The Asheville Police Department is looking for tips in the May 22 robbery of Black Bird Frames on Merrimon Avenue. Two paintings were stolen, including “Two Red Maples” by Jerry Cram, pictured above.

According to police reports, the suspects broke the window with a rock and stole two paintings by local artists. In addition to “Two Red Maples,” the piece “Feel Good” by Terry Walton was also stolen.

ASHEVILLE – Asheville police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the person(s) responsible for a breaking and entering and larceny from BlackBird Frame & Art, located at 365 Merrimon Avenue. 

On May 22, 2010 at approximately 6:00am, suspect(s) used a brick to break the business windows and remove two paintings that were displayed by local artists.   

Investigators are encouraging anyone who has information regarding this incident or that has seen the missing art since 05/22/10 to contact Detective Davis or CrimeStoppers at (828) 255-5050.
