Protests and turmoil erupt in Haiti — Twitter-based coverage from Lorin Mallorie

Asheville-based journalist Lorin Mallorie posted Twitter observations from Haiti regarding the breakdown of order on Nov. 18. These tweets were sent between 2:50 and 3 p.m. that day. More recent tweets appear in the Twitter-feed box below.

Rumors of an “earthquake” from 11-18th, now clearly a cover for protest trouble.
Cholera protests erupt in Port-au-Prince, UN reportedly throws tear gas into tent camp across from capital.

If the function of the UN is keeping peace, seems like they should just go.

    Sad that this is one of the best news sources about Haiti. It’s past time Haitians had another revolution to throw out their US and UN colonial masters.
