Snow! OMG! Asheville-area residents report on snow

When Snowpocalypse 2009 happened, Asheville Twitter Nation was ready with a hashtag: #AVLsnOMG, a tag even picked up by Progress Energy’s own Twitter account.

Using the snOMG tag and Twitter, we gathered a greatest-hits sampling of both the serious and the silly from over 40 pages of weekend Tweets from the City That Heat and Power Forgot. Here’s the worst WNC snowstorm in over 15 years, as it happened.

Why does one have to go four days without Charter telephone and internet. I know some people are still without electric and I feel for them but telephone service is certainly needed. Charter makes all kinds of promises. Told me it would be on by 6 p.m. Monday…It is still not available four hours later.

  2. Just wondered

Anyone know whose convertible that belongs to? What a great shot! Pretty much sums it all up. I’d like an “after” shot too, if possible.

  3. The Eurostar and Ebbsfleet?

Did you hear about what happened with the Eurotrain services? They had problems because of the snow too, although the services were only reduced, not cancelled. I got back from holiday yesterday and we had taken the Eurotrain, so we missed the trouble.
