Recent Asheville transplants Mark and Shelley Lieberman have quickly immersed themselves in their new town, with activities as varied as teaching a course at the OLLI College for Seniors at UNC Asheville, working on theater productions and hosting and producing a weekly radio show — The World According to Mark — on the community access station WPVM 103.7 FM.

Mark Lieberman asked Mountain Xpress staffers Able Allen, David Floyd and Virginia Daffron to chat with him on May 15 about Xpress’ recent primary election coverage and the outcomes of that contest. Along the way, we managed to discuss our mission, our editorial decision-making process and how the role of a community newspaper differs from other types of media.

It only takes a moment.
