Llama on the loose entertains dozens on Twitter

Asheville Twitter users were on the edges of their seats as reporter Jon Elliston tweeted live updates of an escaped llama in Arden.

In case you missed the most interesting thing to happen on social media this week, an escaped llama had dozens (dozens) of Twitter users on the edges of their seats this afternoon.

The llama, which has since been identified as Phantom, showed up at an Arden household, coincidentally at the doorstep of reporter Jon Elliston. The resulting live-tweeted stream of llama shenanigans inspired many puns, many jokes and many “only in Asheville” hashtags.

Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015 will forever be known as the day Twitter cheered for a llama on the lam.
