Thanks for reading through to the end…

We share your inclination to get the whole story. For the past 25 years, Xpress has been committed to in-depth, balanced reporting about the greater Asheville area. We want everyone to have access to our stories. That’s a big part of why we've never charged for the paper or put up a paywall.

We’re pretty sure that you know journalism faces big challenges these days. Advertising no longer pays the whole cost. Media outlets around the country are asking their readers to chip in. Xpress needs help, too. We hope you’ll consider signing up to be a member of Xpress. For as little as $5 a month — the cost of a craft beer or kombucha — you can help keep local journalism strong. It only takes a moment.

I think this comic strip best explains the real story of who the real natives are- I know that at least the local wildlife and the Cherokee will find it very accurate and humorous-kudos!

Wow- Mtn. X is now recycling comics from 2007?
Way to not even feature the original comic strip.

I agree with the first post.

Brebro- did you have an off day for “shut up”? Waah. If you’re the same brebro who makes the comics, I’d forgive you as you demonstrate some genuine humor.

This ‘magazine’ is grasping at straws now. Pollyanna journalism to be sure. Yay! move here from Brooklyn!- barf.

Solve some crimes ala APD evidence room and local corruption, and maybe I’ll use the print version for something other than starting a fire in the wood stove. Sheesh.

As you may know, PKAP and I are long-time message board/social media acquaintances so my comment was all in a familiar, good-natured ribbing way that only people who don’t know each other except online can have.

This was the first cartoon I sent the paper in 2007 and since he waited two years or so to find something to complain about, I waited about 3 years before responding to his nitpicking. Also, I thought no one would ever see it by then. You must have subscribed to this post and got an alert!

Otherwise, the MX has nothing to do with bringing this back, it was just my stealthy comment. They don’t even have working links to the actual comics older than a year or so ago.

So unless one of us has posts that have to be reviewed by a moderator, we may be the only ones reading this.
