Think its going to be any better after universal health care? Think again, The DMV is ran with so much efficiency, along with Amtrack, and FEMA, All goverment ran.

But its ok take in the hype for when the universal health care does kick in the US will be broke, I guess that was the change we kept hearing about.

  2. Piffy!

I dont see anything about universal health care in this comic. Or obama. i think you are delusional.

  3. Mysterylogger

Of Course there is dropping him because of his condition, thats what Universal Health care promotes non dropping but it happens, if it was so great why did Fidel fly in Doctors from somewhere else and Canadians come here to have surgery done.

It very so much so, sorry I live in the real world.

  4. Ken Hanke

The mystery of Mysterylogger lies in determining what he’s trying to say.

  5. Piffy!

So, by saying that insurance companies will drop people to avoid providing the care a person has payed for (a verifiable fact), you are necessarily promoting ‘universal health care’?

    I see.

Not to even begin to argue the ludicrousness of the statement “it will never work”, when EVERY OTHER industrialized nation has a system that works FAR BETTER than the privatized model available in the US…

Yes, compare it to the DMV. Tell me, would you rather wait in line at the DMV, or try to collect from Blue Cross or Kaiser? Wait until you get a major illness, ML. You will change your mind VERY fast.

  6. Mister Blister

Canadians do not come here for surgery. They have a great health care system. Why would they come here and pay $50k for something their government already provides? Where do you people come up with this stuff?

  7. Mysterylogger

Uh no, Its true Canadians come down here all the time for for their medical needs instead of waiting on red tape and “Sorry you have to wait”. You think their is red tape now? Just look at Medicare and Medicaid now thats red tape for you and poorly ran.

But Im sure it will work out since the country is broke and we are getting Universal Healthcare shoved down our throat. Makes a lot of since being we are in debt up to our years and inserting yet another goverment run enity.

  8. Piffy!

and now its official. mysterylogger is cullen anderson, since he just LOVES to claim that all his canadian freinds come here for surgery. what fecking nonsense.

  9. Ken Hanke

Where do you people come up with this stuff?

By repeating things they’ve heard or read from generally unverified sources that they accept as fact because it fits what they already believe.

In some cases, it would be time better spent worrying about things like noun-verb agreement, rudimentary spelling or even working on a general knowledge of what words to use when.

  10. Piffy!

naaahhhh, of course there is dropping him, it very so much so.

i think, perhaps that was loosely translated from Korean.

Its on the news and several other place if you wish to look but that would mean Not listening to NPR or watching another work of fiction in a Michael Moore movie.

“Canadians come down here all the time for for their medical needs”

    No they don’t.

“…there’s no evidence that the number of Canadians who cross the border to receive care in the U.S. is statistically significant. The definitive study was done nearly 10 years ago for Health Affairs, and it found “the number of Canadians routinely coming across the border seeking health care appears to be relatively small, indeed infinitesimal when compared with the amount of care provided by their own system…

there’s a certain leap of economic logic that most people fail to take into account when they buy into the myth of Canadian refugees fleeing their universal health care system: “Our results should probably not, on reflection, be surprising. Prices for U.S. health care services are extraordinarily high, compared with those in all other countries..

Some people do it (come to the U.S. for treatment) – but then again, some people also voted for Bob Barr or bought Snuggies. A small number of people does not an intelligent trend make.”

    http://healthcare.change.org/blog/view/traveling_for_care_–_outside_the_us

Last year, nearly one million Californians crossed the border into Mexico to buy cheaper prescription drugs. In other words, Americans leave this country to take advantage of another country’s health care system. And a growing niche market in this country is ‘medical tourism’ whereby Americans go to other countries for specific, lower-cost treatments.

Health insurance companies are a key factor in the abysmal state of America’s healthcare delivery system, yet we still have all of these cheerleaders defending them. It’s crazy.

Its on the news and several other place if you wish to look but that would mean Not listening to NPR or watching another work of fiction in a Michael Moore movie.

feel free to list your sources for your unsubstantiated rumors and hearsay.

The link you provide, “mysterylogger”, is from a website making many accusations against Obama’s health care plan. It looks interesting and I look forward to reading it further.

In the meantime, can you specify in what section resides the information regarding the large amounts of Canadian citizens coming to the US for medical care, as you have above claimed?

Also, nobody above has made any reference to Cuba’s health care system other than you. Same with your Michael Moore reference.

As for myself, I am not asking for any ‘handout’ of any kind. In fact, I have not even defended or claimed to support either “Socialized” health care or Obama’s health care ‘plan’.

In addition, as i’ve stated above, there is no specific reference to any of these things in the above ‘comical illustration’. As far as I can tell, it just a dig on how lame insurance companies are. Are you really going to defend insurance companies? Who the hell likes them?

  15. Dionysis

“And why did Fidel bring in other doctors outside Cuba to fix him when his fall of communism happened, if their health care is so wonderful.

Its ok wait for you handout”

Cuba has been sending doctors to other countries, particularly in Latin America, since 1963, and have trained many hundreds of foreign nationals in their medical schools as well. They export doctors; they have no shortage, and their training is as good as anywhere.

“Between 1963 and 2005 more than 100,000 doctors and health workers intervened in 97 countries, mostly in Africa and Latin America (2) By March 2006, 25,000 Cuban professionals were working in 68 nations. This is more than even the World Health Organisation can deploy, while Médecins Sans Frontières sent only 2,040 doctors and nurses abroad in 2003, and 2,290 in 2004 (3).”

A blog full of opinion, with a few youtube links?

Hey, whenever I see the words “as Ayn Rand once said,” I know to leave the room.

  17. Piffy!

So, i read through a bunch of the blog mysterylogger provided as a source for his “unsubstantiated rumors and hearsay”.

it is just that. pretty funny, really, that anyone would consider the information on there anything other than opinion, as opposed to ‘news’.

Oh, and nothing, from what I could find, to substantiate the claim that Canadians are coming into the US for health care en masse. just in case you were curious.
