We’re pretty sure that you know journalism faces big challenges these days. Advertising no longer pays the whole cost. Media outlets around the country are asking their readers to chip in. Xpress needs help, too. We hope you’ll consider signing up to be a member of Xpress. For as little as $5 a month — the cost of a craft beer or kombucha — you can help keep local journalism strong. It only takes a moment.

If the cartoon was to be turned around to suit dems, it would say:
    1. No need to register or be a citizen..come on in.
2.Immunity from US laws and nasty police guaranteed..move on.
    3.Free health care…just drop by
    4.Free education.. guaranteed.
5.Pick up your food stamps here.
6.Free housing assigned here…or you can just pretend to buy a house and move in.
7.If you intend to work and actually pay taxes..you are not wanted here.

Howdy BGG…at least you’re not trying to claim that illegals are voting for liberal Democrats. As for the root cause of our continued influx of illegals, you might want to look beyond the stereotype of leftist Dems…

According to a 2008 study by the Industrial College of the Armed Forces (National Defense University):

“For much of U.S. history, the agricultural industry has relied heavily on both
legal farm workers and illegal immigrants…

Without astrong impetus for change to labor practices and immigration policies, agricultural businesses are likely to continue using cheap, illegal labor in lieu of paying higher wages or paying more money to increase mechanization…

…concern for national security has actually been subordinated to a desire for cheap labor: many U.S. employers actively recruit illegal aliens as a source of cheap labor.”

All that need be done is purge Big Business, particularly Big Agribusiness, of all of those extremist Marxists Democrats running them. You do know they run ads in Mexican newspapers for laborers, don’t you? Darn libs!

Bill, I like how you don’t care that your point is factual lacking. You just push on ahead anyway, facts be damned! THAT’s Patriotism!

Wow Gruff. Last I looked, you do have to register to vote.

And as Di pointed out, most ‘illegals’ are coming here to work, and therefore pay taxes. They have taxes deducted from their wages, and I would guess that a significant number of them don’t file for their refund come tax time.

And again, the notion that undocumented persons would risk the three years in prison, $10,000 fine, and/or deportation just to cast a single vote… well that’s pretty dumb. And that’s why there’s no evidence that any of them are doing it. ANY.

Unless you have a secret source hidden in your shirt pocket?

We have register and vote one-stop-shopping..no proof of citizenship required.

Dio..It is actually good to see you. I’m anti-amnesty-swing-the-doors-open-it-isn’t-the -land-of-the-free, but everything is yours for free. I want the laws enforced and don’t care whether it hurts big agribusiness,or not.

To Barry; I think you jest. 10K fine would never be paid, breaking the law certainly is hardly a concern of those who are breaking it every single second they are here…and a little extra cash for fraudulently voting wouldn’t stop them. It is rather stupid to argue to the contrary and particularly…to argue from the point of the law.
