Thanks for reading through to the end…

We share your inclination to get the whole story. For the past 25 years, Xpress has been committed to in-depth, balanced reporting about the greater Asheville area. We want everyone to have access to our stories. That’s a big part of why we've never charged for the paper or put up a paywall.

We’re pretty sure that you know journalism faces big challenges these days. Advertising no longer pays the whole cost. Media outlets around the country are asking their readers to chip in. Xpress needs help, too. We hope you’ll consider signing up to be a member of Xpress. For as little as $5 a month — the cost of a craft beer or kombucha — you can help keep local journalism strong. It only takes a moment.

    What David said.

Wish congress-critters had to deal with the healthcare system the same way the rest of us do.

Paul – They have BlueCross BlueShield. Regular ole insurance. It has low out of pocket, like most unions do, but its just regular insurance like many Americans have.

No. No, it isn’t. You might as well claim the sky is chartreuse.

Read again Bill and Paul. Its insurance with great benefits. Complain about their Cadillac benefits if you want, and I will agree with you, but its just that … a Cadillac insurance plan.

  5. Paul -V-

JWTJr: Last time I checked, a Cadillac Plan isn’t how most of us have to deal with the US healthcare system.

But whatever. If you really think Shuler has to deal with the system the way the rest of us do, there isn’t much I can say to change your mind.
