Okay, so there’s a positive. Hopefully, local leaders who take credit for Mary Johnson’s pleasant experience will see the wisdom in pushing back against some larger housing developments when residents wisely raise traffic/noise/quality of life concerns.

The noise may be better because the cars are almost standing still. It’s a mess. Was this the intent? To push drivers over to Kimberly, Edwin and Charlotte St? It’s working. What will happen when the two huge complexes are built on Charlotte St? There’s nowhere left to jump. How about a plan for the coming influx of traffic to North Asheville?

Well yeah, this is good. But yeah too… what about the instantly inevitable increased traffic on Kimberly, Edwin and Charlotte St because of the Merrimon “upgrade”? I’m afraid someone is going to have to come up with a REAL Plan B. I’ve got an idea…. let’s take all that TDA money and spend it on light rail from downtown on up Merrimon Ave and Charlotte St. I know ….if only… sigh. (….or better yet, let’s abolish the TDA, but keep the occupancy tax on the books and redirect this windfall towards something like the aforementioned light rail thingy ;)

Can we just bring back old fashioned, electric powered trolleys? Some ancient technology that could use revisiting!

Two reasons, cars have gone into other areas to escape the standstill traffic and Cars sitting in traffic not moving, Idling great for the environment.

Asheville like most cities is way too car dependent. Good news for people who love cars, freeways and endless strip malls: plenty of places to move in this great country with no lack of both! Enjoy!
