Letter writer: Anyone want to stage a Civil War play?

Thank you for the great [post about] Joseph Scotchie”s newest book, A Gallery of Ashevilleans: The History of a People of a Mountain Town [Dec. 31, Xpress]. Joseph was always a reader; [he] started with sports and then went on to even reading the World Book Encyclopedia for the joy of reading and learning all on his own. He also wrote a play, Robert E. Lee.

Do we have a theater in Asheville that would love to perform this amusing and history-filled play? I understand one-man plays take at least three actors to perform the same man. What a wonderful play for Ashevilleans and visitors alike. We do live in a city rich in so many talents.

Thank you for helping us all to know what is happening in wonderful Asheville.

As long as the South loses, and states rights is revealed to be a false flag,

    count me in.

I forgot to add this, but as I enjoy seeing local theater (as long as it isn’t a musical), one of my favorite episodes of The Twilight Zone was their take on the short story “Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge”. Yea, I know it might be difficult to simulate hangings, dodging bullets while swimming underwater, etc on stage, but hey, treat it as a challenge.

Would The Red Badge of Courage be considered a sore spot for representing the winners? If I was force fed that book in high school, I’m assuming it’s either considered part of the American literary canon or else my school just had 30 copies laying around.

  3. Yep

Would a Civil Wah play even be allowed in such a lieberal leftwing history denying town as Avl ? Would the younger people even know about the Civil Wah since rewritten/written out by modern government screwl ‘educators’ ?
