Several months back, a pizza restaurant in the Midwest declined to cater a gay wedding. They were attacked on a national level and driven out of business for not accepting other people’s sexual behavior.
Now, some Asheville citizens are trying to drive a coffee shop out of business because they don’t like the owners’ sexual behavior.
Double standard, anyone?
Yes, these two men behaved badly, essentially like teenage jocks in a high school locker room. Did they break any laws? No. Did they force anyone to do anything against their will? No. Being rude and stupid is not a crime, else we would all end up in jail eventually. There are popular celebrities and politicians whose sole talent is being rude and stupid. It’s not a crime.
If you don’t like these guys’ behavior, you have every reason to avoid spending your money on their coffee. But there is no reason in the world to pointedly try to take away their livelihood or drive them out of town.

And Memories Pizza in in Walkerton, Indiana is still going strong… although they were recently tricked into catering a gay wedding. Presumably, once they found out about it, they sorted through all the money they’d taken in to find all the bills infected with teh ghey and burned them.
Bayard – What are you even talking about really? How can anyone “drive someone out of town”? Do people show up where they live, break the door down, load all their stuff in a moving van, hog-tie the guys and throw them in too and then drive them to Oklahoma (or wherever) and dump them out with a stern warning to “never come back, or else!” Is that how you do it?
So, get real — it can’t be done.
Secondly, THEY chose to sell their business. No one had a gun to their heads. They saw the writing on the wall (that customers would avoid spending money at Waking Life, as you say) and did the necessary thing. One only hopes that they now grow up.
For one, they were receiving death threats on Facebook.
