There’s something (or someone) new at the French Broad Food Co-op

The French Broad Food Co-op has a new general manager, Bobby Sullivan. In my opinion, he is the best thing to happen to our store in a long time. If you have stopped shopping at FBFC, come back. I think you will find better energy and lots of positive changes happening. If you have never been to the French Broad Food Co-op, stop by. You don't have to be a member.     There is nothing like good old capitalist competition to straight out the marketplace…in favor of the consumer. I stopped going to French Broad Co-op a long time ago because their prices were too high and many of the employees were rude. Then Greenlife took most of their business away. God bless them. But I’ll give FBC another try, Monique. A good manager can make all the difference.

    That’s the impression I’ve gotten in the past as well. Not only that, they discriminate against customers based on some arbitrary dress code. I’m always treated with much more friendliness and respect at Ingles, so I see no reason to ever go back to FBFC or to recommend that anyone else go there.

At first EarthFare cashiers acted like they were doing you a favor to check you out…but they’d continue carrying on their conversations with their buddies….same thing at Greenlife…But lately they both act like they appreciate a customer and no more idle chitchat amongst themselves. Both are much more professional due to the increased competition. That’s my personal experience, others may have a different take.

    In the past I’ve had cashiers at both places look down their noses at a purchase I was making, like it was anyof their business. Something needed to change at both stores…and I welcome a positive change at FBFC, as the reality of stiff competition makes itself fully known.
