Think green, think right, think local!

As a downtown business owner in the Grove Arcade, the subject in question is literally in my backyard. I am absolutely shocked and dismayed to hear about the city's proposal to allow yet another high-end hotel to be built on the property opposite our historic Basilica! We already have the Hotel Indigo just a block from the proposed site and we will soon have another, even more exclusive hotel on Biltmore Avenue.

I say enough is enough already! For a city the size of Asheville and with the reputation we have as a forward-thinking city, we have a distinct lack of green space within the city. What better place for a beautiful park than in front of our beautiful Basilica. Please do not give in to the temptation of more corporate dollars. Think green, think right, think local!
