I don’t want to live in the Republicans’ world

Since Obama took office, Republicans, with the help of corporate lobbyists, have made a concerted effort to destroy his administration. Their concern was not for the problems of this country and its citizens, but simply to destroy Obama so they could take this country again, even after their disastrous Bush administration that led to most of the problems we face.

[Sen.]Richard Burr is engrossed in this drive to take over the government [using] lies and the dirty tricks of Karl Rove, who, along with Cheney, was behind the disastrous Bush administration. They are only self-serving and are not concerned about this country and its citizens. They may say so, but they lie, just as Burr is lying in his TV ads. He must be defeated. They are all despicable in my eyes. I do not want to live in their world.

  1. Piffy!

they do need to be defeated. IT would be nice if there were some actual alternatives other than the Democrats and their only-mildly-better luke-warm appeal

  2. UnaffiliatedVoter

Obama? probably! He hates America and wants to fundamentally change it. No can do.

  3. “even after their disastrous Bush administration that led to most of the problems we face.”

    FALSE.

It is an unbroken string of progressive public policy and government interference in the marketplace that led to ALL of the problems we face.
    ………………………..

  4. shadmarsh

Wow, nice sweeping statement there Timmy. Funny too, since it comes from someone who lives off a taxpayer subsidized government settlement.

  5. Clyde Hunnicutt

Lloyd Kay. Wow. Try checking the facts first, and not demonizing those who disagree with you. Obama is a disappointing failure to the left, middle, and right. Obama just plain is a mistake. He is clueless. He didn’t have the executive experience to be president from the getgo, and this has been proven by his dismal performance. Go ahead and blame republicans. This is evidently a common liberal ploy. To whine and blame someone when their political schemes don’t work. Say, got an idea. Instead of blaming all Obama’s failures on Bush, why not go back to Nixon. Yes, Nixon’s the one. It’s all Nixon’s fault. Darned republicans! lol.

  6. The America that the Republicans gave us is one that throws beer parties to celebrate 9/11 (thanks Glen Beck and Palin), yet votes to block healthcare that was to aid the families, firefighters, and policemen who were victims of the attack. They gave us an America that bemoans the establishment of a Mosque near ground zero, saying that it is disrespectful, yet for 10 years no-one has ever bothered to lift a finger to set up anything in the way of a plaque or fountain or banner to honor those who died from the attack. If you were to go there today all you would see is a bunch of rubble, surrounded by a barbed-wire fence; along with rusting stagnant construction equipment. It is a very symbolic scene about the state of this country. The republicans gave us a war that lasted years and lives, and for what, a war that was based on nothing more than rumors. What makes anyone think that they deserve another shot?

dhalgren, let us discuss issues. A cute quote, but it certainly applies to you as well, doesn’t it. Obama has been in office for almost 2 years now. To continue to blame his failures on the previous administration is disingenuous at best, and manipulative dishonesty at worst. The countries economic woes do owe in no small way to the democrat takeover of the House of Reps in 2006. Barney Frank pressured banks to make a significant percentage of their loans to unqualified borrowers through government mortgage agencies Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. That certainly helped tip the real estate bubble the wrong way and consequently hurt the stock market. I must say it looks like President Bush went a bit too far with deregulation. It looks like SEC didn’t do a good enough job. But to blame it all on Bush is flat out incorrect.

Let Obama stand on his own and be man enough to take the blame as easily as he likes to take credit. Whining and blaming others is unattractive no matter if it is a smooth talking smiley face like Obama, or not.

Are you saying that progressive public policy and gov’t interference in the marketplace are responsible for a disastrous war in Iraq? Or do you not consider that a problem?

  10. dickyfauge

Right on Clyde. I love it when you sock it toem. They dont know what to say do they Clyde? And thanks for clearing some things up for me. I didnt know Bush had anything to do with the econemic meltdown. I thought it was the congrfess what made him do it. Clyde, I know this might be crossing some boundrys here but could meet sometime and put our heads together and come up with a plan for america? You seem real smart and like you know lots about politicts and such and I have a lot of friends over in Traphill who are looking a change.

imo, It is counter-productive to allow posts like “clyde’s’ that appear not to debate an issue, but merely to pop up and repeat misinformation. The fact the poster in question NEVER tries and responding to the points and exceptions made with his nearly-always dubious statements places him directly in the troll category and begs the question as to what productivity comes from clearing such mis-inforamtion.

Allowing a difference in opinion is one thing-allowing a poster to continue to exhibit the same counter-productive mis-info tactics is another thing entirely. The former leads to a community discussion. The latter leads to a muddied debate full iof half-truths and misperceptions that leave us more ignorant./

This country is headed for either revolution or dissolution.

You guys no longer disagree with each other you DESPISE each other. Hopefully, a relatively peaceful dissolution such as occurred in the USSR 20 years ago will occur instead of the horrifically violent revolution that occurred 150 years ago in the US.

In either case, I’ll pursue my future in South Carolina or Texas and Dahlgren and his pals can hang in North Carolina or NY or the left coast.

I’m beginning to think that the peaceful dissolution would be better for ALL of us.

Well, the Repubs have a strong bench to offer the American public, including NY Republican Jim Russell, who is an acknowledged anti-Semite who wrote an essay extolling the virtues of eugenics, Delaware tea-bagger darling Christine O’Donnell, who admitted “dabbling” in witchcraft, and who is under investigation for using 20k of campaign funds for personal expenses, wingnut favorite Joe Miller, who says unemployment benefits are ‘unconstitutional’ and of course there are old standbys like Newt Gingrich who advocates a “federal law” that would prevent recognition of sharia law and Dick Armey, who believes Social Security is a “Ponzi scheme” and who advocates making it ‘voluntary’.

An impressive list with some swell ideas.

  14. UnaffiliatedVoter

most all teens dabble in witchcraft for a day or two…now they do it thru Harry Potter…give it a rest…

Social Security IS the greatest PONZI Scheme EVER pertuated against a ‘free’ nation, and you better HOPE Sharia law doesnt get a foothold here…surely you are smarter than that?

Susan Fisher, local state rep is being investigated for spending $26,000 of CAMPAIGN funds for her Rawleigh lodging. WHOA nellie!

  15. Dionysis

“most all teens dabble in witchcraft for a day or two…now they do it thru Harry Potter…give it a rest…”

Do most teens also claim that “scientists have created mice that have human brains”, that she “would not have lied to Nazis if she was hiding jews in her home” and that “women should not be permitted entry into military service institutions?” She did.

“Social Security IS the greatest PONZI Scheme EVER pertuated against a ‘free’ nation, and you better HOPE Sharia law doesnt get a foothold here…surely you are smarter than that?”

Then surely you are prepared to sign The Pledge not to take social security, Medicare or any other fruit of such commie schemes. And had Bush succeeded in privatizing social security, how many people would be better off today? As for Sharia law, it’s not something that I would support, but I sure would not support a law that would deny others the right to worship whatever version of some superstitious claptrap they chose. What are you afraid of?

“Susan Fisher, local state rep is being investigated for spending $26,000 of CAMPAIGN funds for her Rawleigh lodging. WHOA nellie!”

If she illegally misused campaign funds, then she should be held accountable like anyone.

By the way, do you really think you’re fooling anyone by frequently changing your screen name?

T100C-1970, I like your style sir. Do you really think we will have a cilvil war again? Maybe we will win this next one. We have common sence on our side and the rightchessness of GOD on our side this time. I am ready to move toTexas with you and Clide and my group. I’m tired of them forcing there liberel agender on me and my kids. Maybe we can move down there where W lives. Cranfort Texas sounds good to me sir. When I watched the republicans on tv with Sara Paylon and saw all them white faces I thought now thats the way it suposed to be. Thank GOD for the TEA Party. Finaly a leader has risen and we can take our COUNTRY back from the Godless heatrons and there homosexuel degentereeted agender.

  17. Clyde Hunnicutt

LOL, Piffy and Dicky (are you two acquainted? might be a match). You just keep on trying to tell yourselves the republican party has a civil war going on and that will save your incompetent democrat party from historic ruin this November. Keep on wishing! Meantime, I’m running through scenerios of how you two will try to spin the huge loss the democrats are going to suffer in November. There is one thing Obama has done that is good for America. He has soured the majority of Americans on the liberal democrat brand for at least 20 more years.

  18. T100C-1970

    Dicky,

I said I hoped we dissolved and avoided another Civil War. I also think YOU will have much more “fun” in AVL or SFO than you will in South Carolina or Texas.

“You just keep on trying to tell yourselves the republican party has a civil war going on and that will save your incompetent democrat party from historic ruin this November. Keep on wishing!”

Well, evidently, if one wishes hard enough, it comes true!

“Karl Rove’s recent trashing of Christine O’Donnell (who, by the way, has dropped by 15 points in polls this week), the winner of the Republican primary in Delaware having defeated the so-called moderate Republican Mike Castle, is the first significant sign that a civil war is now raging within the Republican party between the establishment members, or Ruling Class, and the Tea-Party conservatives.”

“…the huge loss the democrats are going to suffer in November…”

“Hold the champagne. One of the business world’s most powerful lobbyists, the head of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, reportedly thinks Democrats will narrowly hold their majority in the House of Representatives in the Nov. 2 midterm election.

Two sources told CNN that Chamber President Tom Donohue has handicapped every key House race and thinks the Republicans will lose a few — enough to shrink their net gains and keep Democrats in control for another two years…”

  21. This thread is amazing! Dicky, Clyde, and Lamont all the same person supporting and arguing with himself.

Me thinks somebody stepped in some “Cullen” and can’t get it off his shoe.

  22. dickyfauge

Jmac we may be pees in a pod, but we are different peas. We suport the REPUBLICAN party and GOD not like the godless DEMONCRATS. WE are smarter than you think Mr. goodman brown. we have Clyde,Tim,and t100 in ourn corner and they are real craftey. You WILL be defeated in november!

  23. I have a few questions for our conservative martyr friends… Honest questions.

Do you really think the Republican Party cares about you? Do you really think that they believed that turning a blind eye to almost all regulation on corporations of the WTO, that they were doing you a favor? Do you think that they really believed that corporations, if left to their own, would care about investing in their country? Do corporations care about effect of outsourcing on the middle class? Do you think that it is a coincidence that as soon as Obama was confirmed president elect, and started threatenig government regulation, that gas prices dropped all around the country about a dollar? Do you think that Bushes ties to oil had any bearing on his policies as president? Do you think that the Republican party might not have calculated the effect of uncontrolled fuel prices on shipping costs for the entire US economy? Do you think that the streamlining of corporations may have been effected by this? Do you really think that corporations really just want to pay people a decent wage but can’t? Has that been your experience? Do you really think that Republican Party wouldn’t stand to gain something by the weakening of the middle class? Do you think that Republicans would have done something about abortion in the last 16 years of power if really believed it was a moral issue? Do you think that it is possible that abortion may actually be their bread and butter being that the majority of abortions are by teenage mothers for can’t afford to take care of their babies and would therefore be state-aid candidates? Or do you think that career politicians mean every word that they say?

I’m sure that they are all just trying to do ‘Gods will’ and can’t because of all us who disagree are just plain evil…
