Don’t help Republicans (they don’t help you)

Polls are for pollsters. If you want to know what America is thinking, go to a shopping center parking lot and look into their eyes as the people hustle in and out of the stores. Pay close attention to their stride and ages. Notice the bent backs and legs that are hard to lift. Look closely at the lines in the faces of the young mothers and fathers: lines drawn by uncertainty and fear for tomorrow —tomorrows that should be full of hopes and dreams have become dreadful fears of what shall we do or what can we do.

My nephew, a 19-year-old father, was killed in Iraq; his 6 year-old-son said to me, “I didn’t even get to hear his voice.” Two of my other nephews are headed for Afghanistan.

Republicans have had no trouble saying no to improving the quality of your life. Just say no to electing them.

  1. When someone offers you a cup of warm poison, the proper response is: “NO! Never. And GET OUT!”

    20 Days.
    …………………………….

  2. The sad fact is, Democrats have been complicit in the demise. They were complicit in the decision to go into Iraq and Afghanistan, and were complicit in Nafta, and GAT.

We need alternatives to the major parties.

    Timmie, what does that mean?

If he was killed six years ago…and his child was born while he was in country fighting Cheney’s war for profit.

  5. Piffy!

Vote like you are the richest guy in the room, even if you never have any real chance of actually holding such a title.

But that money might rub off on you in some inexplicable manner. And anyway, the richest guy in the room might give you a minimum wage job and it might even offer health insurance that you can afford — if you don’t mind being dragged below the poverty line.

Poverty is good, Ken. It makes a man good and pure. And it weeds out the wheat from the chaff if you know what I mean.

God smiles upon those who are financially prosperous. There is plenty opportunity, as long as people are willing to go and and make their own boot-straps, instead of buying luxury homes with their welfare checks.
