Good news for Asheville High School

I think the Asheville community should recognize and celebrate that the Asheville High School Men's Cross Country team won first place at the 3-A regional meet on Oct. 27. This was the culmination of good coaching and hard work.

Also, I don't know how much of the community is aware that the Asheville High School Marching Band is the only high school band in North Carolina invited to play at the presidential inauguration. This is a serious honor and notable reflection of the the band teachers and students.

As you can imagine the trip will be expensive and the band is in the process of raising the necessary funds through fundraisers and donations. I would encourage you to support the band by purchasing items through the fundraisers and if you would like to make a monetary donation please do so through the Asheville Band Booster program.

The kids are our future and politics aside we need to invest in our youth. Please help these kids, coaches and teachers celebrate their hard work and dedication.
