Another youth killed by gunshot

On the news this morning: Another youth killed by gun shot. Another reason to vote against the Republicans who support the NRA and vote against any gun controls.

It has come to my attention that a preacher in Haywood County told his congregation to vote for a candidate that would keep us in the Middle East, because the Bible says we have to protect Israel. What kind of thinking is this? I also talked with someone who is blaming the current war on the Clinton administration, because they should have taken out Osama bin Laden. I don’t comprehend the thinking of people. The religious right is not Christian. They want to stand against abortion, but they support the war which killed over 3,000 of our young people and thousands of innocent Iraqi citizens.

I will vote for Obama if he is the nominee, but I support Hillary because I think she is the better candidate. She truly cares for people. I find Obama smug and mostly concerned with winning. [He] just talks in words, not specifics. I also feel we need to break the male hold on politics and put a woman in the office.

Where are our real thinkers nowadays?

Seriously, Hillary supporters need to stop spreading the lie that Obama “just talks in words, not specifics.” Media analysts have already dissected both of their speeches and found that he talks in specifics every bit as much as Hillary.

In fact, on quite a few issues, such as LGBT rights, his position papers are far more comprehensive than hers. Stop falling for the lies of the Clinton campaign’s disingenuous rhetoric.

While I’m at it, it should be noted that Obama has 3 more years experience as an elected official than she does, and his legislative record is vastly more significant. Because of Hillary’s polemic divisiveness, she has an abysmal record of getting significant legislation passed.

I definitely agree with Lloyd that the religious right is far from Christ-like.

What Lloyd seems to be unaware of is that Hillary Clinton is literally one of the most despised people in the Islamic world. As a carpetbagger in NY State, Bill Clinton made a number of promises to Jewish leaders to win Hillary her seat. She got the seat, but it created a lot of ill will with Arab Americans and Islamic people all over the world.

That combined with her extremely hawkish nature has made her despised all around the world by Islamic people. That guarantees that if she were nominated we will have lost the battle to win hearts and minds…. on day one.

Lloyd also seems to be unaware of the fact that Hillary has been by far, to the tune of multiples, the biggest recipient of donations from arms dealer lobbyists by any candidate from the entire course of the election from either party. That is a fact.

Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrup Grunman, General Dynamics, and Raytheon weren’t giving her all of that money out of the kindness of their hearts. She is deeply in their debt for the rest of her political career.

It is a fact that Hillary has one of the most hawkish records of any Democrat in the last 50 years. Her earmarks for weapons manufacturers were literally multiples of any of the other candidates in either party,

On top of that Hillary’s vote on Iran, which was nothing more than George Bush and the neocons way of laying the foundation for an invasion of Iran, should certainly disqualify her as an option. She was the only Democratic candidate to support the measure, which Joe Biden called one of the worst votes in history.

If you want to know “where are our real thinkers,” they are out supporting Barack Obama. It is not just a coincidence that educated Democrats overwhelmingly favor Obama. Now that you have more of the facts I hope you will too.

    Lloyd,

There are plenty of Democrats that feel that the more than 20,000 gun control laws is an ample number of laws to prove that criminals do not obey gun control laws. Political party affiliation
does not make a person blind and suddenly think that good people are evil, and that evil people care one whit about good people’s laws.
