As proud as I am to be an Asheville native, I am disappointed at the minimal amount of green space found in our city, especially when compared to other cities I’ve visited.
I urge local leaders to please consider maintaining and increasing the amount of park space in our lovely city.

The “city” is like 2 freakin’ square miles…. if that. Where are you gonna put parks?
Drive 20 minutes in any direction from the “city” and BAM…. green space.
Ummm… it’s actually 42 square miles, with 1667 residents per square mile. More or less.
Drive 20 minutes during rush hour and you’re partway out Merrimon.
Preserving green space within city limits is called forward thinking. In 50 years, after even more development pressure, such decisions made now will be called “no brainers”.
