Obama: too little, too late

As far as I’m concerned, Obama’s disowning of Rev. Wright’s comments comes way too late. And his vocabulary seems primarily to consist of one word: change.

Hillary is who we need to save this country.

Doesn’t the Mountain Xpress have a policy about publishing letters by the same person in successive weeks? Why they are even publishing this racist drivel from LLoyd Kay is beyond me.

Listen to Dean Snyder, the head pastor of Hillary’s former church, who proclaimed it a “grave injustice” to make a judgment on Wright based off of “two or three sound bites,” and criticized those who would “use a few of [Wright’s] quotes to polarize.”

As far as ridiculous comments like, ” his vocabulary seems primarily to consist of one word: change,” why don’t you bother to study the issues the slightest bit before making such ludicrously ignorant proclamations?

Obama’s vocabulary is every bit as comprehensive as Hillary’s, and his plan for a better America is more comprehensive. It is truly reprehensible to keep relying on such ludicrously empty rhetoric instead of bothering to look up the facts for yourself.

North Carolina decided by an overwhelmingly decisive margin that you are wrong Lloyd Kay. Hillary and her despicable Rovian tactics and political pandering are the last thing this country needs.

With last night’s results in NC and the razor-slim win by Hillary in Indiana, this letter and others of similar tone are moot. Now it’s (hopefully) awaiting the countdown for Hillary’s departure. She’s already cancelled all of her public and televised events scheduled for today (Wednesday, May 7). She’s probably talking to McSame about a VP slot.

Given the steady revelations concerning Obama’s spiritual mentor, nothing is moot. It seems Rev Wright’s racist outlook is a long standing and all consuming passion of his. The following link reveals more about this.

Given the longstanding publication of racist, absurd and utterly hate-filled psuedo-theology, Obama is either completely incompetent to be President or he is a deceiving liar. Why would any Democrat want to put a follower of such hatred and one who cannot seem to tell the truth about what he believes in the White House is mind boggling. Asheville leftists and those they have duped with this candidate should consider the views of most of WNC who recognized a problem with this candidate. It’s a sure bet it’s not going away.

” It seems Rev Wright’s racist outlook is a long standing and all consuming passion of his.”

Yeah, could be. So what? He’s not running for anything, and as a campaign issue, it’s pretty much fizzled out except among wingnuts that disdain anything to do with Democrats anyway.

“Given the longstanding publication of racist, absurd and utterly hate-filled psuedo-theology, Obama is either completely incompetent to be President or he is a deceiving liar.”

We can always count on you providing YOUR OPINIONS, delivered with such passion and force as to make the dimwitted believe it is factual. Using declarative sentences doesn’t make it anything other than…your opinion!(by the way…McSame’s seems to have some incipient hate-mongering ‘preacher’ issues of his own…be sure and take umbrage at that too, unless you limit your self-rightous rants to Democrats only).

“Why would any Democrat want to put a follower of such hatred and one who cannot seem to tell the truth about what he believes in the White House is mind boggling.”

Don’t concern yourself with it. You wouldn’t give a Democrat the time of day, so save the phony outrage. And that your mind is ‘boggled’ is no revelation.

“It’s a sure bet it’s not going away.”

At least with you it’s “not going away.” Yawn.

When Sen. Obama is sworn in a president, will the exploding sound of your head be heard among the many? I’ll be listening.

Dionysis, perhaps you havent noticed but this is the OPINION section of the MouontainX anad I am certain your post reflects yhour opinion.
Who the Democrat Party puts at the top of their ticket is a concern of all Americans and not just the leftists fueling the nominating process. As for McCain having preachere issues, he has not that were nto manufactured by liberals. He has not placed himself under their teaching for 20 years nor does he attend their churches.
If Obama becomes President (and it is his to lose at this point) we will witness the continuing slide of this country into an abyss.

“Manufactured by liberals…?” Bwahahahaha. Catholic League President Bill Donohue said (last month):

“What makes the Hagee matter different is threefold: (a) McCain actively solicited the endorsement, appearing with the minister to accept it (b) Hagee is not simply guilty of a few throw-away lines—he has a long history of demonizing Catholicism, and (c) McCain blasted then presidential candidate George W. Bush in 2000 for not condemning Bob Jones University because of the school’s anti-Catholicism (Bush eventually did), thus he has already dropped anchor on this issue.”

    http://www.speroforum.com/site/article.asp?id=14690

“The Question: John McCain’s spiritual guide, televangelist Rod Parsley, calls Islam a “false religion” that should be “destroyed.” Should McCain renounce Parsley? Will Islam be an issue in this year’s U.S. presidential election?

Senator McCain should not have sought the endorsement of religious leaders like John Hagee and Rod Parsley, his “spiritual guide.” He should not only reject their extremist beliefs he should reject their endorsements. No candidate should seek, celebrate, or even accept endorsements from religious leaders.”

    http://newsweek.washingtonpost.com/onfaith/c_welton_gaddy/2008/04/mccain_parsley_hagee_and_apoca.html

Now, should McCain be tarnished as someone who supports these kinds of remarks? Your ‘logic’, followed to its conclusion, would suggest ‘yes’.

Yes, my postings do reflect my opinion. However, instead of just flinging out twaddle (‘leftists’…Socialist…taxes…blah blah blah), I at least offer some substantiation for my opinions. You don’t.

If you feel that Obama at the top of the ticket is such a grievous affront to citizens, then you should be squealing with joy. It should be ever so easy, then, to advance your candidate. Instead, you come across like someone who is scared that his comfy little world is about to come crashing down (of course, that’s just my opinion).

And just for chuckles, let’s see you make a cogent, fact-based case in favor of continued Republicon mismanagement based upon the past seven and a half years of virtual Republicon dominance of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches. Make the case for them (your personal tax savings excepted). You and others of your ilk continue to denigrate and criticize Democrats, yet never offer an objective argument touting the accomplishments of those you support. Pick any area…the economy, foreign relations, education, whatever. Try and make the case and I promise you I will demolish it with facts.

McCain attends a Southern Baptist church, which was formed as a pro-slavery rebellion against the Baptist church. Not surprisingly, the Southern Baptist Church has been tied to a number of hate groups.

The Southern Baptist church preaches hateful bigotry against gays. The Southern Baptist Church believes that women should be submissive to their husbands.

Former President Jimmy Carter had to leave the Southern Baptist church as a matter of conscience. In his words, the Southern Baptist church has policies “that violate the basic premises of my Christian faith.”

Asheville has one of the largest gay and lesbian populations per capita in the US, so while people like travelah may not take anti-gay rhetoric seriously, many of us do.

Asheville has a huge concentration of feminists, so sick and twisted ideas like the Southern Baptist Convention’s demand that women cannot be pastors and must submit to their husbands are taken seriously by many of us.

Jerry Falwell, and the Southern Baptist University, Liberty U, have been guilty of spreading bigotry to a far, far, far greater extent than anything Wright ever said or did.

The man that McCain calls his spiritual guide, Rod Parsley, is an outlandishly bigoted hate-monger. Parsley, McCain’s self-proclaimed spiritual advisor is such an extreme bigot that he believes that America was founded to destroy Islam.

In his own words, McCain’s nutjob spirtual mentor said “The fact is that America was founded, in part, with the intention of seeing this false religion destroyed”

For more on how revoltingly bigoted McCain’s spiritual mentor is, see this Mother Jones article:
    http://www.motherjones.com/washington_dispatch/2008/03/john-mccain-rod-parsley-spiritual-guide.html

Apparently travelah was absent from school the day that they taught the lesson of the adage, people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

  9. DR.ANTINEOCONUS

Hats off entopticon! Your spot on about the ignorant Southern Baptists, who are the second largest religious cult in the U.S.behind the religious Beast, described in Revelation 17 as the Church of Rome

The haughty Southern Baptists are Zionists, dispensationalists, Pre- Tribulation rapture cultist’s, and “once saved always saved” Calvinist’s, all false doctrines, not even found in the Bible.

Southern Baptists teach a different Christ, they preach repressed, republican, War loving F-16 BOMBING Jesus, who waves an American war flag in one hand, while in the other brandishes a Bible and an AK 47. They are neocons and thrive off fear and hate, they worship both government and God, which of course is impossible.

The simple fact of the matter is, the Southern Baptists wouldn’t know the true Christ or the Bible if it hit them over their empty Fox News network heads.

The Southern Baptist government run 501c3 churches range the full apostate gambit, from the little county backwoods churches, whose flocks suffer from generational inbreeding and overdoses of Kentucky Fried Chicken, to the ornate, ostentatious, mega corporate government run 501c3 synagogues of Satan, like the Biltmore Baptist Country Club ,whose administrative complex and payroll is bigger than their actual sanctuary.

They labor under the misconception that they are special and the chosen among all churches and denominations. They labor under a “Strong Delusion”

They would do well to open a Bible for a change and read Revelation where Christ describes them as the rich, effete, Luke warm church of Laodiciea, who in reality are devoid of the Holy Spirit and naked.

IF IT WAXES IGNORANT AND SANCTOMAONIOUS FROM A GOVERNEMNT PULPIT, IT’S A SOUTHERN BAPTIST on his way to Disney land via the rapture EXPRESS, while casting stones and sending everybody else on planet Earth except the Jews ( Who incidentally the Bible says KILLED Christ) TO HELL.
They are correct, they are going someplace, the flood is coming to take them away, while the righteous are LEFT BEHIND

Simply put, when Southern Baptists aren’t fighting with other denominations, they are fighting amongst themselves, constantly forming new apostate churches,,ready and willing to cast stones of judgment at each other and the entire world.

    Dionysis,
I think yesterday’s primary election in WV underscored the point many of us are making. Obama gained an edge through the caucus process and the fact that over 90 percent of blacks are voting on the basis of skin color. That is not a representative process and lacks the coalition Democrats need to not so much to win but to maintain their historic voting block.

As for your prejudice against Protestants, you are in good company with your reference,Bill Donohue. He is an anti-Protestant bigot who has fanned the flames of hatred towards Protestants for years. Nothing new here in that propoganda department.

  11. entopticon

travelah, aren’t you running late for a Klan meeting?

Seriously, what an asinine statement: “90 percent of blacks are voting on the basis of skin color.”

Actually, the statistics on blacks who claim to be voting on the basis of skin color is far lower than whites. Al Gore won with around 90% of the black vote, I guess that makes him black in your book too.

Your argument is despicably condescending, racist, unfounded by the facts, and pathetic. The vast majority of black people are voting for Barack Obama because he is the better candidate.

  12. travelah

entop, you are pathologically dishonest. When over 90 percent of blacks choose to vote for a black candidate when the differences between the two are minor, it demonstrates a racial bias. Your argument also reveals that the black vote will vote Democrat regardless of the candidate.

Accusing me of being a racist klanner is simply stupid and an empty, groundless ad hom. It is the typical leftist approach to dialogue.

  13. entopticon

Once again travelah, there you go with the white supremacist rhetoric. I don’t know whether or not you are a Klan member but I do know that you are a pathetic bigot that regularly borrows their rhetoric.

  14. djresteep

travelah represents the portion of the Republican party who is scared out of their pants to go head to head against Mr. Obama, and the unstoppable wave of popular support he represents. He (trav) makes ridiculous accusations based on half-truths and non-truths (also known as fabrications or lies), and even will stoop as low as pretending to support his former arch-enemies, the Clintons. That is the part I find most rich.
I am only emboldened by his constant, repetitive drivel, because, to me, it implies just how lost in the wilderness the Limbaugh crowd is these days. They just dont know how to play this new game, full of first-time voters who cant be duped into the same divisive and diversionary bad-cop good-cop scenario (in stere-erio!) that the so-called two party system has used to keep the majority distracted since at least the Vietnam War.
Obama’s base is a new majority, that the current Establishment is absolutely petrified by, because they can’t be fooled by the Coke and New Coke options that Ms. Rodham and Son of Cain represent.
Although I dont see Mr. Obama as any kind of savior, I am incredibly entertained to see Hannity, Rush, Coultier, and Beck all scrambling to claim the oh-so corrupt and un-likeable HillaryClinton has any legitimate claim to the office.
I guess ever since Rush spent a week and half decrying McCain after the Florida Republican Primaries that they have all decided to throw their support behind the HillDog.
And I have to admit, she will be a much more entertaining oppoenent than Mr. Obama, who doesnt engage in such distractions as the partisan drivel that passes for debate in this country.
ooooh! It will be soooo funny to see Hillary have to eat all her words as this ‘campaign’ continues.
She is now 20 mil in debt, thus far. I bet she could do a lot of good in this country with that 20 million, other than waste it away on her ego-driven campaign.
Ironically, Clinton gave a Victory Speech last night in WV, talking about taking the rough road up the mountain to victory, and how West Virginians know about that. That road must be getting easier since the West Virginia mountains are being torn down and flattened. Guess no-one told her ’bout that.

This just in….. John Edwards is set to endorse Barack Obama this evening.
