Option 3: Turn off TV

As a voting citizen of the United States of America, I have to say this presidential campaign is becoming a joke. The Democratic Party is the oldest of this country, and [it] is now being obliterated by the two people who could bring upon it the biggest change. It makes me sick to hear this slander about race and religion. Can they honestly be serious? All this talk of white Americans and treacherous ministers is ridiculous. Even assassination has been brought up in these debates, by a candidate!

I don’t care [if] they are purple atheists as long as they can turn this country around. The generation before mine must still have some grudges, but as for me, I can honestly say that some of these remarks are doing everything but swaying me towards their side. It shouldn’t even be necessary to choose sides between what once was only one.

I only ask that everyone who plans to vote in the upcoming election do so with all of this nonsense aside. I realize that the primaries are over for North Carolina, but I can only imagine what dirt will be stirred up between the final Democratic-nominee selection and November. These are the candidates that we have been given, so try to make your decision with only the facts that apply. We must move forward as a country, which means we must look past the childish tactics of the media and the power-hungry politics that now exist. And if you feel as though you can’t stand it anymore, just turn the TV off.

Jeana, assasination was actually brought up first by NBC News in an interview with Ted Kennedy and then by Michelle Obama. Secondly, dirt can only be stirred up if there is any dirt to begin with. I realize there are elements that would like the electorate to stick their heads in the sand but hopefully that will not happen.

Actually, the Republicans are the oldest existing party in the US…yet today’s Republicans are nothing like the traditional post-revolutionaries like Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. To hell with Alexander Hamilton and those Federalist usurpers!

“there are elements that would like the electorate to stick their heads in the sand but hopefully that will not happen.”

And there are elements (read all Republicons) who would like for voters to ignore the past 7.5 years of malfeasance, dishonesty and criminality and worry about boogeymen like Muslims, leftists, Communists, Socialists, dark swarthy types and all the old stereotypes.
Don’t fall for it. They have nothing but fear, innuendo and smear tactics. They offer nothing the country wants anymore (20 plus percenters not withstanding), and cannot make the case for any accomplishments.
