Receiving the gift of community

I would like our community to know about a wonderful thing Doc Chey’s did for me recently. Following a back surgery that turned unlucky when I contracted a rare infection from surgery, I was out of work for several months. Doc Chey’s organized a day where they would donate 5 percent of their sales to help me with medical bills.

My wife and I told everyone we knew, who in turn told everyone they knew, to go to Doc Chey’s on a Thursday. Our community packed the restaurant. Thank you to everyone who came to support us. Doc Chey’s even upped the donations they gave us to 10 percent of sales! We are so appreciative of [owners] Brooke and Ellie for supporting us and being such a great establishment in our community, and of all the servers, kitchen staff and hostess who worked so hard that day. As a former server for Doc Chey’s, I know firsthand the generosity Brooke and Ellie offer to our community. Thank you, Doc Chey’s!
