Teabaggers should learn from original tea party protests

I agree with [recent letters] to the Asheville Citizen-Times arguing that the "teabaggers" have it twisted.

The original tea party protested transnational corporations that destroyed local colonial businesses. We must engage in revolution against mega-corporations of banking, Wall Street and other special interests that have already appropriated our government through billions in contributions and lobbying. They are poised for total control of our republic. Through their newly acquired Supreme Court legacy, they will blitz their way in hot pursuit of all elected officials who would oppose them or have the temerity to propose a necessary constitutional amendment that would eliminate their misbegotten "personhood" — erroneously conferred upon them in 1886, as revealed in Thom Hartmann's book, Unequal Protection.

While we need millions of teabaggers, we need them to focus on real solutions to the greatest threats to our nation, a constitutional amendment and publicly supported campaign financing.

the original ‘tea party’ were but a bunch of anarchists, hiding their identity in costume under cover of night, destroying private property.

    you know, heroes and patriots.

    Nothing like today’s teabaggers

    everybody now:

    I am an anti-Christ
    I am an anarchist,
    Don’t know what I want
But I know how to get it.
I wanna destroy the passer by
    ‘Cos I wanna be anarchy,
    Ho dogs body

    Anarchy for the UK
    It’s coming sometime and maybe
I give a wrong time stop a traffic line.
Your future dream is a shopping scheme
    Cause I wanna be anarchy,
    It’s in the city

How many ways to get what you want
I use the best I use the rest
    I use the NME.
    I use anarchy
    ‘Cause I wanna be anarchy,

It’s the only way to be

    Is this the MPLA
    Or is this the UDA
    Or is this the IRA
I thought it was the UK
    Or just another country
    Another council tenancy.

    I wanna be an anarchist
    (Oh what a name)
And I wanna be an anarchist
    (I get pissed destroy)

Gonna have to disagree with ya, penkap…

The people who participated in the Boston Tea Party were indeed avowed capitalists who were attempting to strengthen their own hierarchical structure at the expense of another through direct action.

  6. brebro

They also tried to get Native Americans blamed for their vandalism by dressing up like them.

  7. Piffy!

    yeah, yeah, yeah

    youre right

i think i was going more for ‘their’ definition of anarchist.

Also, i dont think too much of chops version of anarchist, either. i think that may be more like a nihilist, anyway.

How does it taste to get teabagged? It must not be good or the left wouldn’t have so much malice towards them.

Mr. Patrie, corporations do something government can never do – generate wealth, create jobs, and stimulate the economy. This idea the government can do these things is a ruse, and an attempt to do the very thing you accuse corporations of doing – gain power. While there were certainly those who sought to advance themselves economically by their participation in the Boston Tea Party, the majority were reacting to the continued taxation without representation in which the British government was becoming increasingly familiar. These people felt their government had stopped listening and they demanded to be heard. I’m not a “tea bagger”, but history has repeatedly taught us that men of action get results, and men who just roll over and take it, like most liberals and a few conservatives today, get rendered irrelevant. By the way, after the Tea Party, Britiain repealed the Tea Act.

I’m sure there are some who think the Teabaggers are teabagging each other … and snicker about it.

However, the truth is that the Teabaggers are sending/giving their teabags to the Democrats. Open up.

  11. JWTJr

I was a little unfair in my last post. Some Republicans got Teabagged too. They didn’t like it either.

I am really quite tired of everyone pasting sexual innuendos onto those who are doing what they think is right to support freedom in this country.

Everyone, regardless of political label has some issue with what is going on in this country from the echoes I hear in the halls. I’d say unite on that which we can agree, but I see that this is impossible, though ideal. (We could unite, and sort out our differences after we fix the big problem…)

Instead, quite taking cheap shots at each-other and *DO* something! Whatever your conscience drives you to do, peacefully.

We are on the wrong path as I hope you all see. This country is headed for disaster and all I see is do nothing fools poking fun at those who are taking action.

Do I agree 100% with the TEA party people? No! Especially after allowing that Palin fool into their midst and paying to hear her yammer.

Do we need to stand up for our natural (or god given if you prefer) Rights as Free Human Beings? YES!

The more power we allow and grant to the behemoth, the less we have for ourselves, the smaller and less significant we become. (Most of what is legislated upon these days is prohibited by our founding documents. Those documents were meant as chains to restrain the behemoth from trampling upon us)

Is that the future you wish for your children? Insignificance to all?

  13. blackburnc

Amen, BilliBuster! Thank you for your call to action and your historically accurate analysis. The behemoth must be shackled.

  14. Piffy!

It’s cute to watch people discover politics over night and immediately think they have all the answers.

How about a rebuttal instead of a personal attack, pff. You’re not contributing to this discussion.
