You can speak about your values, but you can’t speak for all of us

Mr. Eck, in his letter ["Democrats Don't Represent Our Mountain Values," May 5], claims to speak for all the other humans who live in this area.

His values are not my values; in fact, I have strong disagreements with most of his.

I accept his right to speak of his values, but not for others.

I view both major [political] parties as pretty poor performers, but the Republican('t) party has acted consistently against the interests of most U.S. citizens.
