These are the Asheville City Council Members you should contact ASAP, requesting that they stand up for Asheville citizens by ensuring that The Bluffs developer commits to building his bridge to Woodfin before beginning construction. Without the bridge, traffic congestion will be a nightmare, health and safety will be greatly compromised, and the Richmond Hill Park experience will be negatively impacted forever. If you’re not sure what we’re talking about, please drive (or bike) up to Richmond Hill, admire our peaceful neighborhood, visit the park, and then dial the digits below…Thanks!

    Esther Manheimer: 828.259.5604
    Sheneika Smith: 704.401.9104
    Gwen Wiser: 828.333.1767
    Sage Turner: 828.423.0621
    Antanette Mosley: number unknown
    *Sandra Kilgore: 954.540.5593
(Councilwoman Kilgore wisely told me that she knows it must be ‘bridge first’, but (to my knowledge) has yet to make a public statement.)

Where is the information on the bridge and how that is approved? Wouldn’t that require NCDOT approval? Also what is the impact on the French Broad by building a new bridge across the river?

      • Robert McGee

Exactly! All of those questions must be answered *before* approving The Bluffs and risking the health and public safety of current and future residents. Please spread the word amongst concerned citizens to visit the Richmond Hill and River Rescue FB page to sign our petition. No bridge, no Bluffs!!

The bridge is coming if the project is approved. We do not want the project and we do not want the bridge. Because Holdsworth has a history of bankruptcy and because Woodfin is in over their head, we must demand that the bridge be built first. Otherwise, Woodfin and Asheville taxpayers will wind up footing the bill when Holdsworth skips town.

**COME TO THE WOODFIN HEARING ON JUNE 24TH AT 6:30PM…CONTACT TOWN OF WOODFIN FOR LOCATION AND DETAILS…WEAR GREEN TO SHOW SOLIDARITY AND TELL BOARD MEMBERS THAT WE DO NOT WANT THE BLUFFS, TRAFFIC CONGESTION, POLLUTED RIVER, CLEAR-CUT FORESTS AND ON AND ON…

    Scumbag meaning
    skŭm’băg’

    A person regarded as despicable.
    noun

A condom, especially one that has been used.
    noun

    A low, despicable person; lowlife.
    noun

(mildly vulgar) Sleazy, disreputable or despicable person; lowlife.
Can you believe that scumbag Steve asked to sleep with her before even asking her name?
    noun

The definition of a scumbag is a person who is dishonest, contemptible, undesirable or sleazy.
An example of a scumbag is a felon with a long criminal record who shows up drunk at your door to take your daughter on a date.

*Holdsworth’s team referred to Barbara Lamb and other Woodfin Board members as a ‘bunch of scumbags’ on April 5th during the P&Z Hearing. You can find it on YouTube.

The scumbags get caught calling the board scumbags while pleading for approval of a project that sucks. Priceless! I bet they suck at poker. Better to know when to hold them and when to fold them. lol lol lol Carry on, scumbags!

    • Orphie Lovin

It was one of those omigosh! moments when Holdsworth did not realize there was an open mic. Now since a Z&P member has recused herself, there is no longer a quorum and the board is without authority to rule.

  5. Orphie Lovin

Here on YouTube is the “scumbag” comment clearly made so that everyone can hear it. Note the expression of shock on Attorney Derek Allen’s face.

Give it a few seconds to ring out to the whole Planning and Zoning Board. Attorney John Noor is also using Zoom in his office, and he hears it too.

      • Orphie Lovin

Thanks for posting that. I could have sworn I had a similar link posted which preceded by a few seconds the “scumbag” comment by John Warren Holdsworth.

Just to be safe from hackers, the “scumbag” comment is here: 1:35:00. Let the tape play a few seconds for context. Then you can hear the gravel-voiced Holdsworth issue his abuse.

The YouTube section (above) should be played from about 1:34-1:37. The more I think about this, the more outraged I am by what transpired on 4/5/21.

How is it that Holdsworth can get away with calling locals such as Barbara Lamb and Kenneth Razza ‘scumbags’ when he is not the one whose home and health and safety are being threatened to be destroyed? Woodfin P&Z members are doing their duty to consider the welfare of the low-density neighborhood of Richmond Hill that’s under assault.

Shame on Mayor Manheimer and Asheville City Council for refusing to join their own citizens in legal standing to protect their health and public safety. Holdsworth has shown by words and actions what disregard he has for the citizens of Richmond Hill. Just imagine how little respect we’ll get if he’s able to con local officials and push this vile project through.

Contact Mayor Manheimer, attorney Brad Branham, and all councilwomen by phone today to express your outrage at their complicity. Richmond Hill needs your help!

Why’s it always some bankrupt from Florida calling people names?
Next thing you know he’ll be inciting riots!
