    Wow. This is disgusting.

I’ve enjoyed reading this paper for over ten years now. I’ve noticed more bias lately, but figured it was ok to put up with it because just about every news source has leaned more strongly towards one side or another the closer it’s gotten to the election. But as someone who intentionally reads across the full spectrum of left to right media sources, my experience informs me that only news sources that have truly begun to lose their interest in disclosing the truth and upholding fair reporting in exchange for espousing hatred towards those who hold opposing viewpoints will allow material like this to be published.

Chad Nesbitt was attacked for being someone with opposing viewpoints and being there filming- plain and simple. He was literally kicked while on the ground unconscious. He still can’t walk without assistance, and it’s likely that he’ll be forever deaf in one ear. Now, he’s being attacked again, this time in print.

I’m just going to go ahead and say it- Molton is a coward and an idiot. I would speak my mind fully, but this is a moderated comments section and I don’t want to say anything that’s not family friendly.

Political cartoons, can, of course, be whatever level of garbage the creator wishes to create. But ideally they would present a prominent figure, political situation, or point of view in an insightful and humorous manner. Molton rarely achieves this with his jarring artistic style and superficial level of intelligence; rather than delight, he tends to leave a bitter taste.

And what’s more, a publication such as yours has a responsibility to present fair and balanced content. Some can lean left, some can lean right. But what you published today was just hatred, and exactly the kind of material that fueled the hatred of those who attacked Nesbitt in the first place. “Hey, a man was severely injured and will be crippled for life- let’s publish a cartoon making fun of him!” You’re paper is trash and The Mountain Xpress has lost itself reader. Anyone who is opposed to unjustified physical violence sould consider this as well.

Chad, you were knocked down by your own “bodyguard” when he started a shoving match with people trying to keep you from sticking a camera in their faces.

I’m glad you weren’t badly hurt, buddy – but maybe take a lesson from this. Pretending to be a “journalist” in a crowd of angry people who know who you really are is never a good idea.
