“The project motto has become: ‘The community builds a park; the park builds a community.'”
Local artists help transform Jones Park into the new Candace Pickens Memorial Park. Plus, Asheville documentary filmmakers take home on Emmy, Grovewood Gallery hosts an exhibit by Bakersville wire sculptor Josh Coté and Black Mountain’s free annual Park Rhythms concert series returns.
“If the city can maintain a baseball field at an annual cost of $25,000, used almost exclusively by boys paying to play in organized sports leagues, I sincerely hope we can fund the maintenance of a rebuilt Jones Park Playground.”
