Appalachian Trail thru-hiker Johnny Morris is hiking for a cause. The 23-year-old Asheville native seeks to increase awareness of dementia and raise funds for MemoryCare, a local nonprofit founded by his mother, Dr. Margaret Noel.
On Tuesday, May 26, Asheville nonprofit MemoryCare hosted a special screening of the award-winning film The Genius of Marian at the Asheville Community Theatre followed by an interactive discussion on the joys and challenges of caring for loved ones who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease and other cognitive impairments.
