You may be familiar with the Appalachian Trail, which trots through North Carolina. But do you know about the state’s own Mountains-to-Sea Trail? Author and hiker Danny Bernstein will discuss the trail and her new book, Mountains to Sea Trail Across North Carolina, on Tuesday, March 5, at Diamond Brand.
Trail building is a slow process, but when it’s finished you know that you have a trail for generations. A 25-mile trail section in Ashe, Watauga, and Wilkes counties will be officially designated as part of the North Carolina Mountains-to-Sea Trail (MST) at a ceremony Saturday, Oct. 2, at mile post 272 on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
