“I had this slot for a show and I thought, ‘I’d like to pass this opportunity onto a lot of people,’” curator Severn Eaton says. He’s doing just that with the group show ‘Debut,’ opening at PUSH on Friday, June 16.
The series will be on display at PUSH Gallery through Oct. 4, with an opening reception held Friday, Aug. 19.
Mountain Oasis doesn’t necessarily bill itself as an arts and music festival. But that’s not to say the two will be strangers this weekend. Two art exhibitions opening Friday night at Push Gallery and Saturday afternoon at the Apothecary partner artistic abilities with musical influences, adding to the weekend’s festivities. This Friday, Push Skateshop & Gallery (25 Patton Ave) presents Neon Heathens, a local artist showcase curated by painter Gabriel Shaffer. The show opens at 7 p.m. and features pieces from Andy Herod, Michael Hsuing, Shaffer himself, along with Nicolas Pecoraro, Shawn Oldham, Nathanael Roney, Heironymous and Jesse Reno. Xpress’ Nathanael Roney will do a poetry reading and Ben Lovett will provide the tunes.
