In order to qualify for a free listing, an event must cost no more than $40 to attend and be sponsored by and/or benefit a nonprofit. If an event benefits a business, it's a paid listing.

For repeating, ongoing events (gatherings/meetings that happen weekly, bi-weekly or monthly) the Xpress offers three months of free in-print listings. After three months, however, we ask that all groups pay a small fee to continue running that listing in print. Online-only listings are always free of charge, as long as the group meets the above Free Listings criteria. Thanks!

Paid listings lead the calendar categories in which they are placed, and are marked paid (pd.). Many of the categories in the Calendar are placed directly on editorially consistent pages within the print version of Mountain Xpress. For example, the Outdoors Calendar is seen weekly on the Outdoors section. Paying for a listing does not guarantee it will be accepted.
