The curious selection of Sarah Palin for VP has me thinking way out of the box.
Why choose an obscure woman from a state far removed from the mainland, who governs a population one-third the size of Brooklyn; a former beauty queen, mother of five children, a religious zealot who tried to ban books, who has a pregnant, unwed 17-year-old daughter but who vetoed funding for sex education and programs for unwed mothers. Palin has no experience with big government or foreign policy and—with her husband—advocates the secession of Alaska from the United States. She is full of contradictions but can give a good speech and looks like a Babe (according to the guys)? Why?
Must be a plot by the right wing to rape the last frontier for Big Oil.

Interesting you mention rape. There is discussion in Alaska re: under Palin, Wasilla was the ONLY town in Alaska that made rape victims pay for their OWN “rape kits” (the medical tests etc for the evidence). So the state came in and passed a law saying they couldn’t do that anymore. One of the reasons recently given for her firing of the police commissioner (for which she is under investigation) is that he traveled to D.C. without her permission to lobby for funding for rape investigators. (Alaska has the highest percentage of rape in the US.) Come to find out, in Alaska hospitals, if you’re raped, they offer you Plan B. This prevents fertilization. Even the Catholic church says this isn’t abortion, but Alaska victims rights folks are saying Palin took an even more extreme view, and refused to pay for anything as long as Plan B was offered by the hospitals. Don’t know if this is true or not, but worth investigating.
