• Check this one out if only for the name: Vincent’s Missing Ear plays Firestorm Cafe (48 Commerce St., Asheville, 255-8115 ) at 7 p.m. Says the band, “So this is a BIG DEAL. It’s not just some concert with a bunch of dirty hippies abusing acoustic guitars. This is VINCENT’S MISSING EAR. We’re premiering 9 of our most recent compositions, song that we’ve been delicately (and sometimes not so delicately) tweaking and fine tuning in a laborious process lasting many moons. All for you dear concertgoer. So you should come and enjoy the sonic feast that we are providing, that glorious banquet of sounds and textures that we like to call guitar based avante-garde contemporary pop music. It’s the start of something new, something hip, perhaps even (dare I say it) something revolutionary. You’ll want to be the there for this.” Tips encouraged.

“The Get Down” new venue in West Asheville is open, eh? I wonder if they have a website with a schedule of hours & what’s going on? I’d like to see what it looks like & it’d be fun to do that when a band is there. (Can’t make it for the Zealots show.)
