Things in the U.S. and globally seem to be moving faster and faster in the wrong direction. While we are hurtling toward a cliff edge, we are busy squabbling in the back seat. My hopes for our collective future are hanging by a thread.
What does this have to do with the fate of 103.5 MAIN-FM, our local, independent, not-for-sale radio station, which may go off the air Nov. 1 for lack of money? Unless we the people know what’s really going on, we can’t make the changes we need to make. Imagine you and your fellow citizens not hearing the insights available from Democracy Now, Thom Hartmann and New Dimensions, to name a few.
Our current paralyzed political quagmire is due in large part to the near-monopoly onslaught of the truth according to Fox News and its radio fundamentalist ditto-head clones. When we need more than ever to respectfully dialog with each other we are being divided and conquered.
MAIN-FM is an endangered treasure offering us other viewpoints, in-depth reporting and a whole vision for community — empowered sovereignty. We need to keep it going.
So please [help] MAIN-FM. The next fund drive is Oct. 25-30. It’s make or break time, people.

I will remember the death of the great WPVM radio station commandited by Wally Bowen himself and will not share a tear for the end of his own wasted radio .
I remember the end of the great WPVM-103.5 few years ago and do not feel moved by this predictable SOS!
Hey, Francois! How’s the bread?
