About 30 Woodfin residents were displaced by the flooding, said Capt. Chris Dorsey of the Woodfin Fire Department, and officials say more nasty weather could be on the way.
A flash flood watch remains in effect through Wednesday evening in Western North Carolina. The National Weather Service says thunderstorms could produce torrential rains with total amounts of 2-6 inches.
