Full announcement from the Asheville Police Department:
ASHEVILLE – On Sunday, 02-05-12, at approx. 7:44 pm; Officers responded to a Shoplifting call at Kmart on 4 S.Tunnel Rd in East Asheville. According to Loss Prevention Officers, Christopher Scott Crawford, who gave an address in Kingsport, TN; had stolen Xbox accessories, Microsoft points cards and Gummy Bears from the store totaling approx. $252.00 dollars in value.
During the course of the investigation, Crawford gave a false identification to Officer’s on the scene. Officer’s, investigated further, and through the use of the suspects cell phone, accessed his Facebook account to determine his true identity.
It was then determined that Crawford was wanted in Howard County, Indiana for Attempted Murder and Armed Robbery probation/parole violations. Based on this information, Officer’s obtained a fugitive warrant for Crawford and charged him as follows:
Felony Fugitive Warrant
Larceny Misdemeanor
Drug Paraphernalia
Resist Delay and Obstruct
Bond was set at $1,001,000.
