Here’s the press release from Warren Wilson College:
The Fiske Guide to Colleges again has chosen Warren Wilson College as one of the nation’s “Best Buys” among private colleges and universities — the ninth time since 2005 the guide has selected Warren Wilson for the coveted list.
Regarding college cost of attendance, the 2015 Fiske guide notes “that price and quality do not always go hand in hand. … Fortunately, there are some bargains to be found in higher education.” In its latest “Best Buys” list, Fiske suggests “a number of schools that offer outstanding academics with relatively modest prices.”
Warren Wilson is among a select group of 22 private “Best Buys” nationwide. With tuition and fees of just over $30,000 for the 2014-15 academic year, the college is rated as “inexpensive” in relation to other private colleges and universities in the Fiske guide. Warren Wilson students also receive a credit of nearly $3,500 per academic year toward total cost of attendance for their participation in the campus work program.
In addition to giving the college high marks for its academics, affordability and social life, the Fiske guide gives Warren Wilson the highest possible rating for its overall quality of life for undergraduate students. The guide also observes, “Success at Warren Wilson is measured not only by grades, but by community service and a sense of stewardship.”
The Fiske Guide to Colleges, first published in 1982, has been called “the best college guide you can buy” by USA Today.
