Well over eighty members and guests of the Preservation Society of Asheville & Buncombe County gather for the Annual Griffin Awards for historic preservation at the NC Department of Cultural Resources Western Office. While there, these preservationists show that the historic Nurses Dormitory (built 1930) on the Charles George VA Medical Center is a Place That Matters.
A similar photograph will be taken at the Basilica of Saint Lawrence, downtown Asheville, on Tuesday, May 29 at 5:30pm. All are invited to join.

Is that building in any condition to be saved? I assumed that what with all the over-growth it was probably going to have to be eventually razed. Shame because it is a neat old building to be sure.
Believe it or not, it can be saved. The building is structural concrete, and looks much worse than it is. The roof is deteriorating, and it’s lost many windows, but the building is solid as a rock.
