Asheville, N.C. – For busy working professionals and others considering graduate school, the process for applying to the new Center for Graduate Studies of Asheville has just gotten easier. The downtown center, a satellite program of Lenoir-Rhyne University, is hosting a series of events with on-the-spot admission decisions. Prospective students simply bring a completed admissions packet to a “Graduate Student in a Day” event on any of the following dates: June 27, July 5, 10, 18 or 26. or Aug. 1 or 8. All events take place from 4:30-7 p.m. in the 2nd floor boardroom at the Center, located at 36 Montford Ave., in the building it shares with the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center. Those interested should register for a date at http://asheville.lr.edu/GradDaysRSVP.
The “Graduate Student in a Day” events will provide an opportunity to speak with an enrollment counselor, discuss financial aid, and tour the new facility, where classes start in August. Elements of the admission packet that prospective students should bring are: a completed graduate application for admission and three recommendations (forms for which are available online at the website listed above), copies of transcripts from all colleges attended, a resume, copies of test scores (GRE, MAT, or GMAT if applicable), and an essay indicating the reasons for pursuing the graduate program of the student’s choice.
The Center is offering a one-time special discount rate for students entering in the fall 2012 semester. Anyone taking six or more credit hours will receive a 10 percent discount on tuition during the fall term. The following degree programs will be offered:
